ANOTHER ARAB TERRORIST ATTACK IN TEL AVIV
Innocent Israeli civilians were attacked by a "Palestinian" bomb in
the center of Tel Aviv. 21 Israelis, men, women, children and elderly,
were wounded in the attack. Thanks to the G-d of Israel no-one was
killed. It was a cruel terror attack which was carried out by the
"Palestinian" terror organizations in the only way that they know to
do it for so many years to kill innocent Israeli civilians. Their main
goal is to kill Jews and Israelis only because they are Jews. They
want to destroy Israel and they will use any way that they can to do
so.
We shall not play with words. We shall say very clearly that these
cruel murderers, no matter whether they belong to the Hamas, the PLO,
or some other "Palestinian" terror organization, are messengers of the
head of these bands of murderers, the terrorist Yasser Arafat. With
this murderer, a Labor government in Israel signed a so-called "Peace"
agreement and we can now see for ourselves what type of "peace" it is.
In the history of all the nations we have never had such a "peace"
which over and over kills innocent Israelis in cruel ways. This is a
"peace" full of blood, hatred, violence and, basically, it is just a
stage in achieving the main goal of destroying Israel and pushing the
Israeli nation into the sea. When they speak of "peace", they really
mean "piece" - to take piece after piece of Israel and to make their
goal easier to achieve.
The Israeli government which signed this false and evil agreement
under the pressure of all the world, mainly the president of the
United States of America, made a terrible sinful mistake. They signed
an agreement with satan himself. The G-d and people of Israel will
never forgive those Israelis and Gentiles who shook hands with the
devil, Yasser Arafat, and even kissed him. They will never forgive
those who made this bloody monster an "honored" guest all over the
world. We have no intention of being hypocritical like all the
politicians all over the world - the blood which was shed again today
in Tel Aviv is crying from the ground to immediately cancel the false
and bloody Oslo Agreement before it kills all of us. We must
immediately stop the negotiations with Arafat and his band which have
as their main purpose to force Israel to withdraw again from the land
of Israel and to make a terrible evil in the Eyes of G-d by giving the
Promised Land, given by G-d to Israel in an eternal covenant, to the
enemies of G-d and Israel. The so-called "Palestinian Authority",
another evil result of the Oslo Agreement, must immediately be
disbanded. Israel must immediately come back to the Biblical cities,
all of them cities of G-d given to Israel and which have a major part
in the Biblical history of Israel. This is a terrible abomination of
the Word and covenant of G-d. These cities have become just a base for
terrorism, an cities of refuge for "Palestinian" terrorist who kill
Israelis and then run to them where they are protected by the
"Palestinian" authorities. The murderer and terrorist, Yasser Arafat,
must be brought to trial as a terrorist criminal.
In any case, this evil Oslo agreement will never work. G-d will not
allow it. Let us learn the lesson of the history of Israel. G-d never
allowed any power to found a foreign state or authority in the land
which G-d dedicated to Israel. It is so sad that even an Israeli
government did not learn this lesson. Israel needs a real peace more
than anyone in the world. Our history is full of wars and the attacks
of enemies which tried to destroy Israel and only the G-d of Israel
saved this nation again and again. This real peace will be given to
Israel only by the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and only if we
trust in Him and not in any of the enemies of Israel and only if we
trust in our faithful G-d and the eternal covenant that He made with
us over 4000 years ago. A real peace is not the peace of Oslo but the
peace of Jerusalem which G-d will give us generously.
And to the enemies of Israel which today bombed Tel Aviv we want to
say that, despite what they do, they will not succeed in their
ultimate goal. They don't want to learn the lesson of the last 50
years that the G- d of Israel showed them again and again when He
defeated all their attacks against Israel. They still have illusions
that they can destroy Israel by killing innocent Israelis and they
don't want to larn what G-d showed them and everyone that He is
determined to redeem the people and the land of Israel, to completely
fulfill His covenant with Israel, and to accomplish Hi prophetic
end-time plans and to open a time of real peace for Israel and for all
the nations because only from Zion will the Law go out and the Word
of the Lord from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:3) and not from "Palestine" which
never existed in the land of Israel or any other part of the world.
This name comes to deny the deep linkage between the G-d and the
people of Israel and the land which G-d promised them and where they
licved for 1000's of years and to deny G- d's covenant and to give a
new false anti-godly name to the land of G-d and Israel. It will never
work. Only the G-d of Israel controls the destiny of Israel, and
forever. In the G-d of Israel we trust.
THE TEMPLE MOUNT BECOMES A PLACE OF REFUGE FOR
TERRORISTS
On Tuesday 25 August, 2 "Palestinian" terrorists escaped from the
Israeli security forces in Jerusalem, who had detained them before
they undertook an act of terror, and ran to the Temple Mount. The
foreign Arab authorities on the Temple Mount , the Wakf, gave them
refuge and tried to prevent the Israeli police from catching them.
Thanks to G-d, the Israeli police did not give up and arrested them
and even stated that the Temple Mount is under very clear Israeli
sovereignty and Israel will do what it needs to do on this holy place.
However this incident serves as a warning of what the Arabs and the
PLO terror organization has made of the most holy Hill of G-d: a place
of refuge for terrorists and criminals. The Temple Mount has become a
political Arab terror center against the G-d of Israel in His own holy
House and against the people and state of Israel. Such a terrible
abomination and all the world is silent. They will never react when
evil is done by Yasser Arafat and his band of murderers or by other
Arabs. Such hypocrisy, and they think that G-d does not see and does
not hear what they are doing and not doing. This is not the first time
that the Temple Mount has become a center of hatred and violence. This
is not the first abomination of the holiest place in the world, the
Hill of the House of G-d, by His enemies and all the world, including
the UN and the president of the United States, do not react so as not
to destroy their close friendship with these terrorists and don't pay
attention to the fact that they are destroying their relationship with
G-d Himself. Every day we can see how Arabs and "Palestinians" have
picnics on the Temple Mount and leave it dirty; how they play football
on the most holy place of G-d; how they smoke cigarettes on the paths
of G-d; how they destroy the last remains of the First and Second
Temples and rob Temple vessels that they have found from time to time;
how they build ne mosques and other buildings on the Hill of G-d; how
they prepare weapons in the basements of the Temple which have been
directed and will again be directed against Israel at the moment they
choose. Such a terrible continuing abomination and who in the world
cares about it? For all of them, the Arab oil and their money is more
important than G-d, His holy House, and His people, Israel.
The G-d of Israel will never forgive this abomination and evil. He
spoke through His prophets about the end-time redemption of Israel but
also about the time of judgement of all the evil which is soon to
come. Despite this terrible abomination, despite their efforts to stop
the fulfillment of G-d's promises, they will not stop any of this. The
Third Temple is soon to be built on the Hill of G-d and Mashiach ben
David is soon to come to the House of G-d but G-d is expecting all of
us to trust in Him and His promises, to act for His prophetic plans,
to dedicate our lives for their fulfillment, and not to fear any of
the enemies of G-d or the hypocrites. We decided to trust in G-d and
His covenant and to dedicate our lives for this godly vision. We shall
see the godly fulfillment in our lifetime.

Vatican man puts faith in ET and his friends

EXTRA-TERRESTRIALS exist and there is no conflict between a
belief in aliens and the Christian faith, a Vatican theologian
close to the Pope says.
Father Corrado Balducci, of the Congregation for the
Evangelisation of Peoples, claims in a book about alien
abductions to be published next week, that it is wrong to assert
that reports of encounters with aliens are not credible.
"It is reasonable to believe and affirm that extra-terrestrials
exist," he says. "Their existence can no longer be denied, for
there is too much evidence for the existence of
extra-terrestrials and flying saucers."
Father Balducci says that clues such as the existence of flying
saucers indicate that extra-terrestrials are further evolved than
humans. In an interview to be published as the appendix to
Confirmation, Father Balducci says that even if extra-terrestrials
were discovered who were superior to humans, it would not call into
question the teachings of Christianity.
He refers to a passage in the New Testament where St Paul refers
to Christ as the king of the universe, not just the king of the
world. "This means that everything in the universe, including
extra-terrestrials and UFOs are reconcilable with God."
Father Balducci, a renowned exorcist and expert on demonology,
has written two books on the Devil. Listed in the Vatican
directory as "priest of honour" since 1964, he is an official
member of the papal household or family.
Father Balducci says his first question to an alien would be
what their concept of God was. But he goes on to say: "It is very
important to lend credence to the eye-witness accounts, but we must be
very careful to ensure that they are authentic. I have also heard of
people who have claimed to have had contacts, but who unfortunately
were not mentally sound."
A spokesman for the Catholic Media Office in London said last
night: "The fundamental creation message relates to humans here
on earth. If aliens were shown to exist, this would not cast
doubt on the veracity of the Gospel. But we would have to ask
whether the Christian atonement was applicable to them."

Dr. Nabil Sha'th, Minister of Planning and International
Cooperation, announced yesterday the actual start of preparations for
the declaration of a Palestinian state next May.
Following the first meeting of the Higher Economic Ministerial
Committee for the Palestinian Development Plan, held yesterday at the
Planning Ministry, Dr. Sha'th told reporters that the committee has
been set up according to a decision by President Yasir 'Arafat. He
said before the committee studies specific projects, it would examine
the general strategy, which is directly concerned with the declaration
of the Palestinian State.
He added that the committee will take into consideration that the
projects that will be selected will be an asset to the declaration of
the state. He asserted that the formation of the committee is
considered the practical preparation and actual start of the
declaration of the Palestinian State next May.
Sha'th asserted that contacts are in full swing with many
countries
so as to recognize our state once its establishment is declared,
pointing out that other states would be asked to recognize it. He said
he believed that a majority of the world countries would respond
positively to this call. Sha'th paid tribute to the position of the
European Union, describing it as very positive vis-_-vis the rights of
our people. He pointed out that a meeting will be held from 26 to 28
October to look into the implementation of the Geneva Agreement as it
pertains to our people and discuss the mechanisms of its
implementation vis-a-vis the issues of settlement activity and
Jerusalem.
On the meeting of the Economic Committee, Sha'th said the
objective
of the meeting, which was attended by ministers and delegates of the
Ministries of Finance, Self Rule, Public Works, Industry, and Economy
and Trade, in addition to "PECDAR" and the Ministry of Planning and
International Cooperation, was to follow up the preparation of the
development plan and reformulate this plan in conformity with the
urgent needs of our people.
He added that the Ministerial Economic Committee represents a
step
forward in the administrative reforms, pointing out that the
differences resulting from the absence of coordination among
ministries and government departments have been overcome.
He pointed out that the first meeting focused on the general
principles, work mechanisms, and identification of roles so as to
achieve a qualitative leap forward in the planning and coordination
among the various government departments.
He asserted that the estimates of the Ministry of Planning and
International Cooperation for the budget of the development plan will
be around $3.6 billion.
He pointed out that the total value of the projects submitted to
donor countries could be slashed to half while in actual terms of
implementation, the share of these countries in the projects to be
implemented would double.
The meeting also touched on many issues pertaining to
coordination
and planning. The geographic dimension of the plan was also discussed.
The conferees also discussed the means necessary for translating the
plan into practice so that essential public services could reach all
our cities and camps. The meeting also identified the role of each
governorate, municipality, and self rule locality in implementing the
development plan.
It is noteworthy that the Ministerial Economic Committee was
reformulated by President 'Arafat recently and is chaired by Dr. Nabil
Sha'th with Industry Minister Sa'd al-Kurunz as the member to follow
up the preparation of the development plan, identify its priorities,
follow up implementation, and resolve differences that resulted from a
lack of coordination among various ministries over the past years. On
his part, Dr. Husayn al-A'raj, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Self
Rule considered the meeting an important one because it initiated
comprehensive institutional work. He disclosed that the Ministry of
Self Rule will be the one directly responsible for everything related
to municipalities and local councils with regard to development
projects. He also pointed out that the ministry will draw up
comprehensive development plans for these municipalities and councils.

Key Russian Army Units Reportedly Placed on Alert
Citing a "highly positioned source at the Defense Ministry," the
Russian newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda" reported
Monday that commanders of the Tamanskaya and
Kantemirovskaya Divisions and the Tyoplyi Stan Brigade, all
stationed near Moscow, as well as the Tula, Ryazan, and Tver
Divisions, have been ordered to "prepare themselves for
extraordinary situations." Officers have reportedly had their
leaves canceled, and the units have been ordered to increase
their guard on ammunition, food, and fuel stockpiles.
Komsomolskaya Pravda also reported that acting Defense
Minister Igor Sergeyev had assured Russian President Boris
Yeltsin of the troops' loyalty during a recent meeting.
Additionally, the newspaper reported that the Interior Ministry
had been ordered to prepare to "act under extraordinary
circumstances" in Moscow, should civil unrest arise. Finally,
the newspaper reported that Russia's Federal Security Service,
the successor to the KGB, is monitoring the situation in
Moscow and the Far East for any signs of destabilization.
Despite Sergeyev's alleged assurances of loyalty, the idea that
Yeltsin can rely on the military to come to his aid as it has twice
in the past is far from certain. Others are calling for the army's
support as well. On Monday, Russian Communist Party leader
Gennady Zyuganov called on the army and law enforcement
agencies to defend against any attempt by Yeltsin to disband
the parliament. In a speech before the Duma, Zyuganov said,
"I am appealing to all people, especially those who wear
uniform. The last island of little legality which still exists in the
country is here in the Duma and the Federation Council. If it is
finished and destroyed, then chaos and gangs will prevail."
Still another possibility was posed by retired General Alexander
Lebed, who declared in an interview published Monday in the
French newspaper "Le Figaro," that "The army is in a
revolutionary mood." "In what mood do you think the army is
when officers have not been paid for five months?" he asked.
Lebed concluded that "The government could collapse in 24
hours. Everybody is fed up." He urged support for acting
Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin, who he insisted was the
only person with even the slightest chance of averting Russia's
collapse. The Duma later rejected Chernomyrdin's
appointment.
The Russian Army has been as battered by the country's
economic decline and collapse as has the rest of the
population, and has been reduced to scavenging in
preparation for the coming winter. Soldiers are frequently seen
begging in Russia's cities, as months can pass between
paychecks, which are as inadequate as they are rare. More
than 150,000 discharged soldiers await promised housing, and
Komsomolskaya Pravda has reported that worthless housing
vouchers issued to Baltic Fleet officers have driven them to the
brink of mutiny. Isolated acts of rebellion have already
occurred. In one incident in July, a major in central Russia
reportedly took to the streets in a commandeered tank to
protest unpaid salaries. Despite promises by Chernomyrdin to
pay overdue military salaries, acting Defense Minister Sergeyev
has ordered all ranks of commanders to "look for additional
sources [of sustenance for the winter] and assume personal
control." Orders have reportedly been issued to all soldiers
and officers to take to the fields to harvest mushrooms, berries,
and other sources of food for the winter.
During the failed coup attempt in 1991 against then-President
Gorbachev by hard-liners, and again in the standoff between
Yeltsin and hard-liners in the Duma in 1993, the Russian Army
either stood aside or stood by Yeltsin. However, in both cases,
popular opinion was largely on Yeltsin's side. If asked to
defend Yeltsin against overwhelming civilian opposition, the
army this time is likely to step aside. With almost no support for
Yeltsin, either in or outside of Russia, the army has little to gain
by turning Red Square into a Tienanmen Square for him.
Furthermore, as the army rank and file share the economic
grievances of masses, the Russian General Staff will wish to
avoid situations that could force divisions in the ranks.

Boston woman sues abortion clinic for 'wrongful birth'

A woman who ran from an abortion clinic when a man began a deadly
shooting attack there four years ago says she was too upset to get an
abortion after that. Now she wants the clinic to help pay to raise her
child.
Deborah Gaines, 31, sued the clinic for "wrongful birth" and her
lawyer says she suffers post-traumatic stress disorder. She was at the
Preterm clinic in Brookline in 1994 when John Salvi III began shooting
in the lobby, killing two receptionists.
Gaines, 31, said she was so traumatized by the shooting that she was
unable to bring herself to enter another clinic to end her pregnancy.
She says she loves her daughter Vivian, now 3, but needs Preterm to
help defray the cost of raising her fourth child because she is poor,
lawyer Chris Milne said Tuesday.
A state judge on Tuesday refused to throw out the case.
Gaines declined comment.
A lawyer for Preterm said Gaines is like a person who becomes too
afraid to fly for necessary medical treatment after seeing an airliner
crash.
"That doesn't give you the right to sue Pan Am because you chose not
to do something," lawyer James Franchek said.
Salvi, 24, killed two people and wounded five others in attacks on two
clinics in Brookline, outside of Boston. He was convicted and
sentenced to life in prison, but died in an apparent suicide in 1996.
Preterm contends the clinic had two armed guards at the time of the
attack. Milne claims that was not enough, especially since it was
widely known that abortion protests could turn violent.
"It should have been locked; there should have been armed guards," he
said.

This year Rosh HaShanah falls on September 20/21, 1998.
"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of
Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month,
shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy
convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer
an offering made by fire unto the LORD." (Lev 23:23-25)
The seventh Hebrew month is called Tishri which corresponds to
September/October. Tishri is also the first month on the Jewish civil
calendar.
The following are all the different names used to describe the first
day of the seventh month in the Jewish calendar:
Rosh HaShanah (New Year)
Yom Teruah (The Day of the Awakening Blast or The Day of the
Awakening Shout)
Feast of Trumpets Yom HaDin (Day of Judgment)
Yom HaZikkaron (Day of Remembrance)
Yom HaKeseh (Day of the Hiding or Hidden Day)
This feast is celebrated over two days because of the difficulty in
olden times of making sure that everyone marked the new moon on the
same day. To make sure nobody missed it, two days were appointed.
Tradition states that this is the birth day of Adam (could the second
Adam, Jesus, have been born on the same day?).
One of the symbolic references to this day corresponds with the fact
that when a King begins to reign he is heralded with trumpets. On this
day, trumpets are blown all day long (some commentators say 100
times).
The gates of heaven are supposedly opened on this day.
The resurrection of the dead will take place on Rosh HaShanah
according to the Talmud, (Rosh HaShanah 166).
Yom Teruah can be interpreted to mean "The Day of the Awakening
Shout."
[For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which
are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not
prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend
from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and
with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord int he air: and so
shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another
with these words. (1 Thes 4:15-18)]
There are three trumpets that have a name: the first trump, the last
trump and the great trump. Each has a specific day in the year: first
trump is associated with Pentecost, last trump is associated with Rosh
HaShanah and the great trump is associated with Yom Kippur.
[In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for
the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1 Cor 15:52)]
"When the Shofar is blown on Rosh HaShana, three different types of
noises are sounded. The first is a 'teki'ah.' This sound is one long
continuous burst. The second sound is called a 'shevarim.' It
consists of three shorter blasts. The third sound is the 'teruah.'
The teruah is a set of nine short bursts of sound, a staccato blast.
The Gemora in Rosh HaShana tells us that these later two sounds are
meant to sound like crying: '. . . drawing a long sigh. . . uttering
short piercing cries.' The Ben Ish Chai writes that these sounds are
meant to contrast with the tekiah. The tekiah, he explains, is a
sound of triumph and joy, while the shevarim and teruah are sounds of
pain and suffering. Because of the opposing feelings they represent,
when one blows the shofar, he is not to connect the tekiah with the
others, by blowing the sounds with the same breath."
This is the only day in the whole year that was referred to as the
hidden day or the day that no man knows.
[But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of
heaven, but my Father only. (Matt 24:36)]
The trumpet is blown throughout Elul (the month before Rosh HaShanah)
except for the last day. The trumpet is silent because much about
Rosh HaShanah is concealed and shrouded in mystery and Satan is not to
be given notice about the arrival of Rosh HaShanah.
One custom for this day is to avoid sleeping, especially during
evening and morning hours.
On this day you are to bow, bend the knee and prostrate yourselves in
awe and thanksgiving. This is unusual as Jewish custom does not
include many instances of kneeling or prostration.
"Three books opened - that of life, for those whose works had been
good; another of death, for those who had been thoroughly evil; and a
third, intermediate, for those whose case was to be decided on the
Day of Atonement (ten days after Rosh HaShanah on Yom Kippur), the
delay being granted for repentance, or otherwise, after which their
names would be finally entered, either in the book of life, or in
that of death."
[He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment;
and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I
will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
(Rev 3:5)]
The customary greeting for Rosh HaShanah is--"Shanah tovah tikatevu"
("May you be inscribed [in the book of life] for a good year") and on
Yom Kippur--"Chatimah tovah" ("[May you have] a good sealing [of your
destiny in the book of life]"). Tradition states that on Rosh HaShanah
"God opens the heavenly books and judges the people according to their
works, writing in them who will die and what kind of life the living
will enjoy during the coming year. The Ten Days of Penitence (Rosh
HaShanah through Yom Kippur) are thought of as offering an opportunity
for repentance that will influence God to change these fates for the
better. But on Yom Kippur these fates are fixed or 'sealed.'"
[And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the
books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book
of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were
written in the books, according to their works. (Rev 20:12)]
The following is one of the prayers in the liturgy on Rosh HaShanah:
"We will celebrate the solemn holiness of this day, how awesome
and fearsome it is. On this day your rulership is lifted up, your
throne is established in mercy, and you sit upon it in truth.
Truly you alone are judge, arbiter, discerner, witness, recorder,
sealer, inscriber and reckoner; and you remember all forgotten
deeds. You open the book of records and it reads itself, and
everyone's signature is there.
"The great shofar is sounded, the still small voice is heard, and
the angels tremble with fear as they procalim: 'Behold! The Day
of Judgment!' Even the armies of heaven are to be brought to
judgment, for in your sight even they are not innocent. You cause
all who come into the world to pass before you like a flock of
sheep. Like a shepherd seeking out his flock and causing them to
pass under his staff, you cause every living soul to pass before
you; you count, reckon and review every creature, determining its
lifetime and inscribing its destiny.
"On Rosh HaShanah it is inscribed, and on Yom Kippur it is
sealed: how many will pass away and how many will be born, who
will live and who will die; who will die prematurely and who will
live out his days; who will perish by fire and who by water; who
by sword and who by wild animals; who by hunger and who by
thirst; who by earthquake and who by plague; who by strangling
and who by stoning; who will have rest and who will wander about;
who will be at peace and who will be tormented; who will be at
ease and who will be bothered; who will become poor and who will
become rich; who will be brought low and who will be raised up."

According to Ernest Martin's research concerning the dating of
the birth of Christ, which he outlines in his book "The Star of
Bethlehem," Jesus was born in 3 B.C. Martin further pinpoints the date
of Jesus' birth to the exact day and even more intriguing, down to a
specific 90-minute period.
This particular article will not deal with Martin's research and
evidence as to how he arrives at the 3 B.C. date (his evidence is most
convincing however). Instead, this article will concentrate only on
the specific day that the book suggests could be the date of Christ's
birth.

Revelation 12:1-5 is used as a symbolic reference for this
argument:
(Rev 12:1-5) And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a
woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and
upon her head a crown of twelve stars: {2} And she being with
child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. {3} And
there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red
dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his
heads. {4} And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman
which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it
was born. {5} And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all
nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and
to his throne.
Martin claims that the above passage gives the exact day and
time of the virgin birth of Christ by first recognizing that the woman
is symbolically referring to the constellation Virgo. This
constellation is the only sign of a woman that is located within the
normal paths (ecliptic) of the Sun and Moon as they journey through
the heavens. Both planets are in line with or amidst the body of the
woman. "She occupies, in body form, a space of about 50 degrees along
the ecliptic. The head of the woman actually bridges some 10 degrees
into the previous sign of Leo and her feet overlap about 10 degrees
into the following sign of Libra, the Scales." At the time of Jesus'
birth (which Martin claims was in 3 B.C.; read his book for further
details on how he comes to this date), the Sun entered into the head
position of the woman about August 13 and exited her feet around
October 2. The scene that John describes in Revelation 12 however
depicts the woman as being "clothed" by the Sun. To Martin, this
describes the Sun's position as being mid-bodied to the woman, i.e.
between the neck and the knees.
"The only time in the year that the Sun could be in a position to
'clothe' the celestial woman called Virgo...is when the Sun is located
between about 150 degrees and 170 degrees along the ecliptic. This
'clothing' of the woman by the Sun occurs for a 20- day period each
year." In the year 3 B.C., the position of the Sun as described in
Revelation 12 could only have occurred during August 27 through
September 15.
To further pinpoint the day of Jesus' birth, Martin now looks to the
position of the Moon. He claims that John's description in Revelation
actually gives us the exact day and time (within a 90- minute period)
of this event. Revelation 12:1 tells us that the Moon was "under her
feet." The feet of Virgo represents the last 7 degrees of the
constellation. In order for the description in Revelation 12 to be
astronomically satisfied and thus represent the birth of Christ, the
Moon then has to be positioned somewhere within these last 7 degrees
of Virgo. At the same time, however the Sun must also be positioned
mid-bodied within the constellation as to give the "clothing"
appearance. In the year 3 B.C., these two planetary alignments
occurred on September 11, beginning at 6:15pm (sunset) and lasted
until 7:45pm (moonset). This is the only day in the entire year (3
B.C.) that this alignment appeared exactly as described by John.
The most interesting point that is brought up about the Moon is
the fact that it was a New Moon. The Moon was in crescent
phase and thus signalled the beginning of a new lunar month.
This New Moon that occurred on September 11, 3 B.C. coincides
to Tishri 1 (Rosh HaShanah) on the Jewish calendar!

against the American Embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam says it is
endeavoring "to liberate the holy places." Does that also mean
Jerusalem?
[Husayni] We have nothing to do with extremist actions. In fact,
such actions play into the hands of the Israeli Government, which has
not failed to state that Arabs are terrorists with whom negotiation is
impossible. For the last 18 months, Netanyahu has been flaunting the
Oslo agreements and Washington -- the guarantor of the peace
agreements -- has not even lifted a finger. Yet the United States
sees itself as the world's policeman and does not hesitate to strike
at any country that breaks international law. Among the Palestinians
and the entire Arab world there is a feeling of terrible bitterness at
the "double standard" that the West calls justice.
[Mourad] The peace process looks bogged down, the Palestinian
people more discouraged than ever, and it looks like Yasir 'Arafat's
decision to change the government has visibly disappointed some
Palestinians.
[Husayni] Oslo is dead and buried. The Palestinian youth,
especially in the refugee camps, wants to start fighting again, and we
are having a great deal of trouble holding them back. Despite
everything, we have decided to be patient until the end of the
five-year interim period so that nobody can say that it was us who
sabotaged the peace process. But on 4 May 1999, we will announce the
independence of the Palestinian state. We will forcefully open up our
borders with Jordan and Egypt, which are currently controlled by the
Israeli army. There will be violent confrontation and death, but this
time on both sides. Are the Israelis more numerous and better
equipped? Yes, but the superiority of us Palestinians lies in the
fact that we are willing to lay down our lives, whereas for them every
death is a tragedy that society cannot bear. We have no other
solution. But watch out If, yet again, the world lets Israel do what
it wants, and if the PLO leadership fails in its last fight, then it
will fall because the people will no longer have confidence in it.
The only alternative will be Hamas. The fundamentalists are waiting;
they are prepared to take power. Where Jerusalem is concerned they
are capable of mobilizing Muslims from around the world -- from Iran,
Pakistan, and Morocco. There will be popular reactions everywhere; no
Middle East government will be secure. The political map of the region
will be sent into turmoil, and then Israel will have real reasons to
be afraid!
As for the Western capitals, none of them will be safe.
Nobody will be able stop the suicide attacks carried out by these
young peoplewho have been made desperate by years of sacrifice that
have led to nothing. And since in Israel, the Jewish fundamentalists,
who are already very powerful, will take power -- that will mean a
clash between two versions of fundamentalism. Unless the Palestinian
question is resolved, then what we are seeing today is nothing
compared to what could happen. Given Israel's means of destruction, as
well as those held by several Muslim countries, the entire world will
be in danger.

From the second night of Passover/Pesach, every night for seven
weeks, the Jews count the days that have passed until Pentecost/Feast
of Weeks. This process is called "the counting of the Omer." This
period is usually one of semi-mourning with many things being
prohibited during these 7 weeks--with one exception--on the 33rd day,
Lag B'Omer. On this day a great plague is said to have ceased and
therefore the ban on weddings, getting haircuts, etc. is lifted.
The feast is commemorated with (among other things) huge bonfires and
children play with toy bows.
