Solitude of the Storm: meeting God (14:14-36)

Jesus is attempting to retreat for a bit to contemplate and (possibly)
mourn the death of John the Baptist. After all, not only was John His
personal "herald". He was also a relative; a "second cousin".(Lk1:36)
But along come the crowds of people. They follow Him where He's trying
to hide out, and it says Jesus was "moved with compassion toward
them." (vs14) And spent the day healing the sick.
What is most important to you? Going for that afternoon of recreation,
or if the Lord burdens your heart, to do service for Him? Not long ago
during a little vacation time, there was a beautiful sunny day; a
perfect day to go for an extended winter's day drive. But the burden
was HEAVY from the Lord to write a commentary. And the words were
physically uttered, even though living alone, "This is what I'm here
for, isn't it..." And the commentary was written, instead.
A dear friend a few years ago had his beloved wife taken in death.
Deeply in love, but now, deeply sorrowing at the loss. While I forget
the details relayed to me, in proximity to memorial services and
whatnot, there was ministry which was required of him. And he forged
ahead to fulfill what was given him to do, as though nothing had
happened.
Jesus lived what He preached. When someone made excuses for "why" they
didn't want to follow Jesus -now- Jesus said, "Follow Me and let the
dead bury their dead." (Mt9:60) As He would say later, "The Son of man
did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life a ransom
for many." (Mt20:28) As Paul's attitude was expressed, "I will very
gladly spend and be spent for your souls.." (2Cor12:15) even though it
is not always accepted, or is accepted, but with wrong motives.
And that brings us to the next section with the "famous" miracles. Let
us remember that Israel is a nation for "signs and wonders." (Deu4:34)
One of the notable miracles during Moses' tenure was the daily manna
which Israel ate for 40 years in the wilderness. While Jesus has just
spent the day healing -individuals- now it's time for a BIG miracle.
Something on the scale of "Moses and manna." And so Jesus takes the
meager loaves and fish that a young boy may have been trying to sell
to aid in the family's paltry income, and feeds, likely close to
15,000 people, or more. That's like feeding a modest-sized town.
The day is not finished, however. He sends the disciples away in a
boat. And then, the multitudes, "time to go home." And then, He goes
for that solitary that He missed earlier. Up into the mountain, by
Himself...to commune with the Father.
Now, it's time for the more important miracle. Remember how teaching
is different for the crowds and the disciples? The crowds have been
fed. Their stomachs are full. And they didn't even have to labor hard
and scrape their coppers together for it. And as we will see in
future studies, they are hoping for a physical, political leader to
save them from Roman domination.
But the disciples: it is time for them to know "What" He is. They are
caught in a lake storm again, and in peril. And Jesus comes to them.
As Jesus calms their fears at seeing him (they think they're seeing a
ghost!) He uses an interesting expression to identify Himself in
vs.27. "Be of good cheer, -I AM-!" While the multitudes have full
stomachs, the disciples are introduced to the "I AM" who had led
Israel centuries earlier. (Ex3:14) These things are happening because
of -I AM- the prophesied One, "God with us." The "son" born of the
"virgin" (Is7:14) is "Immanuel" ...or "God with us." (Mt1:23)
Peter has a -personalized- lesson on "faith". We often criticize Peter
for his "Little-faith!" (vs31) But you notice, the other disciples
didn't bother to follow along out onto the water with him. Peter's out
there, eager to be with Jesus; falls, and is picked up, as he is
chided, "Why did you doubt?"
As soon as Jesus and Peter are back in the boat, the fierce storm is
suddenly calm. Such wonderous events the rest "worshiped Him, saying,
Truly You are the Son of God." (vs33) A different reaction from the
previous time in a storm when they asked, "what kind of man is
this..?" (Mt8:27) By now He has been authenticating Himself to them,
and this time identifies Himself as the "Son of God."
They come to the other side, and the crowds see Him again, and gather
everybody to Him to be healed. To "take" from Him. They have been
filled and healed...physically.
But in the middle of the lake, IN THE STORM, away from the crowds...
Jesus was the "shelter in the time of storm." With all the crowds
around, solitude between Jesus and His disciples was not possible, so,
the only way to have some "quality time" is in the -solitude of the
storm-. As the psalmist learned "You prepare a table for me in the
presence of my enemies.." (Ps23:5a)
We as people don't like the rough times. They are painful and often
full of sorrow. But it is part of our "chastening." (Heb12:7) But He
knows -just- what we need "for our profit, that we might be partakers
of His holiness" and results in "peaceable fruit of righteousness"
(vs10-11)
The multitudes went home -healed- and with full stomachs, to their
warm houses. The disciples weathered the storm, and met the "Son of
God!"

Subject: Mysterious Spraying Update
MYSTERIOUS SPRAYING SAID TO BE SECRET-MILITARY OPERATION
The Environmental News Service (http://www.ens.lycos.com)
has a follow-up to their report about multiple sightings
around the U.S. of massive grid-work patterns in the sky
being created by fleets of jets that fly back and forth
and spray down a material that seems to make people ill.

In their follow-up [1], ENS interviews Thomas Farmer, an
ex-Raytheon Missile Systems engineer who's been tracking
the mysterious spraying incidents for over a year. Farmer
has confirmed that jets used to spray are Air Force jets,
and he's made several collections of the cobweb-like, or
"angel hair," material the jets are spraying out, which
made him, just like many others, sick after contact. It
appears to be a substance used to seed (build) clouds.
ENS reports that Farmer is "fairly certain the contrail
phenomena is one part of a military weather modification
weapons system." The ENS report then observes that a sub-
set of the military plan to use weather as a weapon and
create a "Weather Force," is massive cloud-seeding that
will work in with the HAARP antenna in Alaska, which
is the U.S. military's primary weather-weapons system,
which can exert effects on locations across the earth.
The openly-stated goal for the U.S. military is to
"own the weather" [2] by year 2025 and to thereby be
able to bring target populations to their knees by
"storm enhancement," "storm modification," and being
able to "induce drought." [1] So rather than natural
laws of solar-heating and earth-rotation directing
the weather, the weather will be determined by who
is pleasing or displeasing our military masters, or
then again, perhaps power does not really corrupt.
A U.S. military webpage [3] states that weather
modification by the military is intended to allow
for "storm triggering/enhancement using airborne
cloud seeding." That military webpage also says:
"A global network of sensors provides 'weather
warriors' with the means to monitor and accurately
predict weather activities and their effects on
military operations. A diverse set of weather
modification tools allows manipulation of small-
to-medium scale weather phenomena to enhance
friendly force capabilities and degrade those
of the adversary. Many of the sensors required
for this system are assumed to be...part of the
global information management system (GIMS)..."
Apart from allowing for an Orwellian-weather tyranny,
military-weather control could lead to environmental
catastrophe, since the desire to exert control will
conflict with and overpower rational environment con-
siderations, particularly if control is directed under
the cover of military secrecy. Deliberate large-scale
modification of the weather must be the most dangerous
thing we could do to our planet, and it appears that
military-weather-control planning is being done in
secret, outside the realm of democratic oversight,
just where it needs to be for the worst outcomes!

After my first message on this topic one person replied
saying the grid pattern of contrails appeared in their
area in Idaho and 13 people (mostly old) died shortly
there after. Another person responded saying they've
seen unique grid-work contrail patterns in Georgia.

There are two camps of thought regarding Eden. One places
it in the mountains of Turkey near where the headwaters of the Tigris
and Euphrates originate. This location is favored primarily because
it has been noted that the original translation should have been "And
a river rises in Eden", and arguments that the four heads of the
rivers refer to what we recognize as headwaters. The northern
location favored for Eden has remained to date rather
imprecise. It has been argued however that it surely must lie
somewhere near the beginning of the Tigris and Euphrates. The
problem has remained, where are the other two rivers?
And what could the references to the guarding Cherubim and
the Flaming Sword be alluding to? While the answers have to date
remained vague, the Turkey location for Eden has a strong following
of Biblical Scholars and traditionalists.
The other camp places Eden at the head of the Persian gulf
and at the other end of the Tigris and Euphrates. This camp believes
that the more correct match for the rivers exists there along with
the mechanisms and features that would explain the presence of the
flaming sword and the guarding Cherubim. This camp
composed mostly of geoscientists cite all of the required
criteria, although not without resorting to allegorical corollaries.
We will endeavor as best we can to examine both
possibilities.

BEGIN REGISTERS PARTY; UNITY EFFORTS CONTINUE
Prime Ministerial-candidate Benny Begin registered his new
party - "Herut - The National Movement" - today. Herut (Freedom)
was the name of the movement headedby his father, Menachem Begin,
which was the forerunner of the Likud, from which Begin-the-son
resigned last month. The party's campaign slogan will apparently be,
"Begin - Because He is Right." Efforts are being made on various
levels to unite Begin with the Tekumah, Moledet, and Tzomet parties.
MK Rabbi Benny Elon (Moledet) said today that he will not allow the
situation of 1992 - in which the right-wing splintered into many
small parties - to repeat itself.

Arutz-7 correspondent Ron Meir interviewed Prime
Ministerial-candidate Binyamin Ze'ev (Benny) Begin on the In Focus
newsmagazine this past Thursday evening. Meirasked Begin about
comments he made in an interview with CNN earlier in the week, to the
effect that Oslo must be halted because it has "brought not peace,
but terrorism." "Is it appropriate to infer from your words that if
either the Palestinians or the Syrians were to be led by more
moderate elements in the future, transfer of parts of Israel could
possibly be sanctioned," Meir asked. Begin responded: "No, no,
that's a wrong conclusion. I do not view the Land of Israel as a
bunch of pieces of real estate. The land is not to be transferred to
any foreign rule. This has been our belief and the way we were
brought up, and I think this is a very sound political approach, too.
When I said that [Oslo has not brought peace], I was trying to prove
that even according to the methodology and approach of those who are
proponents of the Oslo process, [later developments prove that ] it
was flawed from its inception."
When asked what he proposes as a solution to the Palestinian problem,
Begin said that he still believes that the Camp David autonomy
model, in which security issues remain under Israeli jurisdiction,
is the best solution. "[But] the Oslo agreement," Begin observed,
"turned things in the opposite direction by 180 degrees. The
jurisdiction of the territory is vested in the hands of the PLO, and
they are in charge of our security." Nevertheless, he admitted, Oslo
has established a certain reality in various areas of Judea, Samaria,
and Gaza, and the current goal should be to prevent the transfer of
more contiguous territory for a fledgling Palestinian state.
Regarding the ever-increasing identification of Israeli Arabs with
Palestinian Arabs in Judea and Samaria, Begin stated: "We warned
specifically against this development... Referring to Arab citizens
of Israel as 'Israeli Arabs' was a totally false approach. This
arose from ignorance on the part of those Israelis - especially
those on the left - who thought they had found a formula that
separated Palestinian Arabs in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, and those
Palestinian Arabs residing in Nazareth... The definition has been
rejected by the Arab citizens of Israel themselves. One should look
into the future and understand that if, G-d forbid, the concept of
an independent Palestinian Arab state in Judea Samaria and Gaza is
realized (on the assumption that you cannot block national
aspirations in the 21st century) then these aspirations will
migrate, of course, across the Green Line." Meir asked, "If you are
elected, what will you do to stop the spread of Palestinian
nationalism in this manner?" Begin: "Nothing will be done, because
nothing can be done. This is why the danger of such an independent
Palestinian state looms above our head, and should be prevented, to
the degree possible, of course."
Finally, Begin was asked what he thinks has been the cause of the
collapses of classic Likud, Herut nationalist ideology. Begin's
answer: "It had to do with the general fatigue in the Israeli public
at large. But it also had to do with cynicism and egoistic
considerations on the part of the leadership. The leadershiphas to
lead, instead of what we saw over the last two and half years, that
is that through the public opinion polls, the fatigue of the public
was radiated and transmitted towards the Likud leadership. And that
leadership - instead of telling them how important and feasible it is
to stand firm - it molded that fatigue into despair. Because once a
member of the Likud looks up to the Prime Minister, and that Prime
Minister, a well known expert on terrorism, shrugs, and says, 'There
is no alternative, we must run away, we must escape from these areas,
we must let Arafat control these parts of our homeland,' then that
person becomes desperate, because he sees no hope anymore. This is a
very grave sin on the part of the [current] Likud leadership. This is
the reason I decided that an alternative had to be proposed to the
public, an alternative that says, 'No, there is hope! Yes, we can do
without an agreement with Arafat. We can prosper, we can see a better
future for our children. Those who raise their hands (in resignation)
are totally wrong, and... have lost a lot of their basic Zionist
belief."

BENNY BEGIN ON CNN
Prime Ministerial candidate, Benny Begin, son of the late
Menachem Begin, appeared on CNN television on January 12, answering
questions phoned in or e-mailed from around the world, as well as from
Israelis whose questions were video-taped in advance on Jerusalem
streets. Begin remarked several times during the program that the
"land-for-peace" model is unrealistic and detached from Middle-Eastern
reality: "Arafat and company will never settle for less than the
whole cake," he observed. "We are on a collision course... As it
stands now, there is bound to be a violent clash with the Palestinians
within the next few years."
One caller from the United Arab Emirates said that all the
Prime-Ministerial candidates are "running after the extremists," and
asked, "Does this mean that we are going to receive another government
opposed to peace?" Begin answered: "The fault does not lie with
Israel. The fault lies with those Arabs that have not yet come to
terms with the existence of a Jewish state in the Middle East. Just
take a look at the Fatah website.
"Fatah is considered to be a 'moderate' branch of the PLO,
and is headed by Arafat himself. Yet on its site, Fatah calls for an
ongoing, armed struggle against what it calls 'the Zionist entity'...
I think that we should take their intentions very seriously."
A man named Amir from Lebanon asked Begin why he continues
to refer to "Judea and Samaria" when the whole world refers to the
area as the "West Bank." Begin, a geologist, replied: "I come from a
scientific background, and I use scientific terms. Samaria, Judea,
the Galilee, Gaza and the Negev are the correct geographic terms that
should be used. The 'West Bank' is now a meaningless term that
originated during the time that the Hashemite Kingdom [Jordan on the
east bank of the Jordan River] was in control of Samaria and Judea.
And of course these areas are part and parcel of the heart and the
cradle of the history of the Jewish people. They belong by right to
the Jewish people. I think we have seen over the past five years that
when an attempt is made to sever the intimate bonds between our right
to the land and our right to security, then the result is violence and
bloodshed."
The last question was from a man named Fuad Sahd, who
asked, "Is it fair to say that Mr. Netanyahu exposed Israel to
unprecedented criticism from its most precious ally, the U.S.?"
Begin answered, "I never criticize any Israeli government either
while I am abroad or when I am speaking English, and I will not do so

references a report done by the U.S. Military (Title: [2025]

potential for future implications. If I remember correctly, last year
Russia claimed to have a "cyclone" machine. Other countries
have made similar claims.
This article by World Net Daily also mentions the ability to alter
the ionosphere and by doing so could thus disrupt enemy
communications. I once heard Jack Van Impe mention OT
scripture that possibly indicated a disruption of this kind. At the
time, he was attributing such a disruption to a possible future
solar flare. I wonder if anyone has heard similar remarks or has
any idea of what scripture he was referencing? I don't remember
what he quoted and since then have been unable to locate any
such reference in the bible.
And just one more little tid-bit.... Last year there was a little blurb
(not more than a paragraph) in USA Today about hundreds of
Australians witnessing "cob-webs" floating to the ground apparently
after witnessing UFOs in the area.
Compare this to the original article posted on Contrails:
"Edgar says he has watched 'cobwebbing stuff coming down' from the
zigzagging jets flying 'all day long, line after line, back-and-forth,
like furrows in a farm field.'"
And similar statements from additional articles:
"The fleets of jets lay a grid-work pattern of contrails that expand and
turn a once clear sky into an overcast, and then according to witnesses
a "cobwebb" like material falls from the sky, which seems to make
people very ill."
But when little green men are mentioned in the same paragraph,
the phenomenon doesn't get as much attention.
USA Today, page 9A, "World Roundup" subsection:
August 11, 1998.
"UFO CLEANING: Maybe the little green men were
just doing a spot of cleaning but residents of
a small Australian community swear they saw
cobwebs fall from the sky after UFOs passed
overhead. Dozens of residents of Quirindi
called Australia's Antional UFO hot line
after the incident."
I often hesitate to bring up material of this nature. Its the stuff that
conspiracy stories are made of. So... you can take it or leave it as
you wish.

elusive. Besides lacking the technology, ethical concerns have
held back development of what could be the ultimate weapon.
However a research paper written by officers in the U.S. Air
Force concludes that weather-modification is inevitable and that
to prevent other nations from developing this technology into a
weapon they can employ against the United States, the U.S.
should do so first.
In about 30 years, the report said, the United States should have
the ability not only to control local and regional weather patterns
but to apply that technology in a number of military scenarios.
Authors of the report believe it is in the best interests of the U.S.
military and, specifically, the Air Force, to be able to control or
create weather elements such as precipitation fog, and full-blown
storms for military uses.
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Michael E. Ryan commissioned the
report called "Weather as A Force Multiplier: Owning the
Weather In 2025." It was first presented on June 17, 1996.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the birth of the Internet at
UCLA
It was on the UCLA campus in 1969 that the first Internet connection
was established, ushering in a new method of communication that today
spans the globe and touches the lives of millions worldwide.
The federal government chose UCLA to become the first node of what was
then known as the ARPANET because the faculty included Professor
Leonard Kleinrock, whose research into "packet switching" provided the
technological foundation upon which the network was to be built.
The ARPANET -- which later became the Internet -- was funded by the
Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), created in 1958 to support
scientific research in the United States. Its creation was prompted by
the Soviet Union's success in placing the "Sputnik" satellite in
space.
ARPA had been supporting a number of computer scientists around the
country in the 1960s. As each new researcher was added, ARPA had to
provide him with a computer, and each researcher asked for all the
special capabilities that existed in the many unique computers that
ARPA was supporting. By connecting the existing computers together via
a data network, ARPA officials reasoned, the community of scientists
would be able to gain access to the special features of all those
specialized computers.
The first network switch, known as an Interface Message Processor
(IMP), arrived at UCLA on the Labor Day weekend 1969. The UCLA team
led by Kleinrock had to connect the first host computer to the IMP.
This was a challenging task since no such connection had ever been
attempted before. However, by the end of that first day, bits began
moving between the UCLA computer and the IMP. By the next day,
researchers had messages moving between the machines.
"Little did those pioneers realize what they had created," Kleinrock
said, reflecting upon history. "In fact, most of the ARPA-supported
researchers were opposed to joining the network for fear that it would
enable outsiders to load down their 'private' computers," he added.
By December 1969, four sites were connected: UCLA, Stanford Research
Institute, UC Santa Barbara and the University of Utah. UCLA was in
charge of conducting a series of extensive tests to debug the network.
Under Kleinrock's supervision, UCLA served for many years as the
ARPANET Network Measurement Center.
In one ambitious experiment during the mid-1970s, researchers at UCLA
were able to control a geosynchronous satellite hovering over the
Atlantic Ocean by sending messages through the network from California
to an East Coast satellite dish.
Ten nodes spanning the United States had been connected by the summer
of 1970. Kleinrock noted that the Cambridge-based computer company
which designed the original IMP -- Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN) --
never imagined there would be a need for more than 64 host computers
in the network and provided only that number of connections. Today, of
course, there are over 50 million computers attached to the Internet
-- and that number is expanding at a phenomenal rate; moreover,
traffic on the Internet doubles every 100 days.
Curiously enough, electronic mail (e-mail), which today is a major
component of the network traffic, was an ad-hoc, add-on to the network
in those early days, Kleinrock said.
The ARPANET evolved into the Internet in the 1980s and was discovered
by the commercial world toward the end of that decade. Originally
conceived and built by -- and for -- the scientific research
community, it is dominated today by the commercial sector.
"Indeed, no one in those early days predicted how enormously
successful and pervasive data networking would become," Kleinrock
said.

Hi. My name is Bob Mueller. I'm not a paid activist, nor am I really an
activist at all, aside from the fact that I've been jostled out of
complacency enough to write this alert. I am, however, an ordinary
citizen who is quite unsettled by one specific issue: U.S. Patent
5,723,765, entitled "Control of Plant Gene Expression". The patent
covers technology referred to as a plant "Technology Protection
System" (TPS), otherwise known as Terminator Technology.
My goal is simple: to share my concern with you, in the hope that
you will be alarmed enough to more completely educate yourself regarding
this matter. For if I can accomplish this, I am convinced, you will
surely ACT.
The USDA, spending public money, has developed a technology whereby
seeds can be stripped of their ability to propagate. They are in the
process of patenting the process worldwide on behalf of Monsanto,
through a subsidiary (Delta and Pine Land Company).
The driving force behind the Terminator technology is the ability
for Monsanto, and Delta and Pine Land Co., to protect their "inventions"
from being "duplicated" unlawfully, which, granted, sounds
appropriate and fair.
The result, however, will be to replace natural crops worldwide,
with genetically enhanced, superior, high yield crops. Superior, that is,
except for the fact that they can no longer reproduce themselves,
effectively forcing farmers worldwide to buy their seeds annually
from Monsanto...the world's only supplier.
The patent applies to ALL PLANTS.
This is the ultimate in Capitalism. We're going to remove nature's
ability to propagate herself, so we can charge money for that
privilege. However, I only wish this were the full extent of the issue. The
part that pushes my button; the part that really unnerves me, is the
probability that, for all their careful planning, this genetically
altered organism will share its suicidal genes with OTHER plant
species. Most children know about the "birds and the bees" ...
Indeed, Martha L. Crouch, Associate Professor of Biology at Indiana
University, has published a series of papers specifying how the
resulting castrated plants WILL be able to sterilize nearby normal
species, via the spread of Terminator pollen. Not only that, but how
these plants will be able to actually *pass* the toxin gene to other
plant species through cross-pollination:
when farmers plant the Terminator seeds, the seeds already will have
been treated with tetracycline, and thus the recombinase will have
acted, and the toxin coding sequence will be next to the
seed-specific promoter, and will be ready to act when the end of seed
development comes around. The seeds will grow into plants, and make pollen.
Every pollen grain will carry a ready-to-act toxin gene. If the Terminator
crop is next to a field planted in a normal variety, and pollen is
taken by insects or the wind to that field, any eggs fertilized by the
Terminator pollen will now have one toxin gene. It will be activated late in
that seed's development, and the seed will die. However, it is unlikely that
the person growing the normal variety will be able to tell, because the seed
will probably look normal.
Only when that seed is planted, and doesn't germinate, will the change
become apparent. In most cases, the toxin gene will not be passed on any further,
because dead plants don't reproduce. However, under certain conditions I will discuss
later, it is possible for the toxin gene to be inherited.

Listeriosis - USA
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was cited as
saying that nine adults and three unborn children have died since last
August in a nationwide outbreak of [listeriosis] linked to a Sara Lee
Corp. subsidiary in Michigan.
Officials were cited as telling the Chicago Tribune that the bacterium
has been identified in [specimens from] 62 people, with five new cases
confirmed in Arizona.
In December, Chicago-based Sara Lee recalled more than 300 types of
meat products processed at its Bil Mar plant in Zeeland, Michigan.
But CDC epidemiologist Paul Mead stated that the bacterial strain
found in unopened packages of deli meats made at the plant hasn't yet
been linked to human illness.
Health officials say there are certain to be more deaths and illnesses,
since [listeriosis can have up to a 6 week incubation period] and the
recalled products may still be stored in people's freezers.
A lawyer who has filed a class-action lawsuit against Sara Lee was
cited as saying that he has learned of 15 deaths and 325 illnesses in 12
states not reported by health officials.

OTTAWA -- The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning the
public not to consume two specific lots of Hickory Farms Beef Stick,
beef summer sausage imported from the United States. The sausage is
sold in a vacuum packed 375g package which does not bear a "keep
refrigerated"warning. In addition to the product label, each package is
identified with a clear plastic sticker bearing the following code EST
222 8255 8258 or EST 222 8255 8257.
It is possible that the product contains the bacteria responsible for
Botulism in humans.
Botulism is a life-threatening illness caused by the build-up of toxins
produced by _Clostridium botulinum_ bacteria.
Hickory Farms is recalling the two affected lots from the marketplace.
The product was distributed all across Canada. [Does not mention the
USA, but since the product was manufactured there, I suppose it
might also have been distributed there - Mod.JW]
Food contaminated with _C. botulinum_ bacteria may not look or
smell spoiled. Consumers should dispose of remaining product
immediately. The product should not be consumed by humans or
animals.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - The death of Betty Cash at age
69 in Alabama late last month generated no headlines,
and only the Mutual UFO Network saw fit to make note
of it. "She was devoted to family and friends,"
stated the press release, "and never allowed her
illness to prevent her from helping others to cope
with the trauma of UFO close encounters."
One different kind of obit.
I met Betty in 1983, when she was living outside
Houston, still brimming with fire and indignation
over her radiation poisoning. She, a friend named
Vickie Landrum, and Vickie's grandson, Colby, were
confronted by a blazing, diamond-shaped object
spewing off massive heat in the middle of a Texas
backroad on the night of Dec. 29, 1980. When she
braked and got out of the car, the thing hovered
away.
Within hours, Betty was vomiting, blistering, and
losing her hair; Colby and Vickie reported similar
symptoms. Betty was hospitalized for what doctors
deduced as exposure to ionizing radiation. Medical
records notwithstanding, what really juiced the story
was how the three reported seeing this object being
pursued by as many as 23 Army helicopters, most of
them twin-rotored Chinooks.
The newspaper got interested because the man leading
the unofficial investigation was a Johnson Space
Center space shuttle flight operations manager. John
Schuessler did thorough work, and he was able to
locate at least four other witnesses - including a
cop - who'd seen the choppers that same night, as
well as their military markings.
As a result of the publicity, the Army Inspector
General's office was forced to conduct an
investigation, but couldn't seem to find any evidence
of its own involvement. An attorney for Cash-Landrum
tried to sue the government for damages, only to have
a federal judge toss it out in 1984.
Now retired and living outside Denver, Schuessler
retraced Betty's ordeal, which ended on Dec. 29 when
she died from myriad cancer-related health
complications. "The judge never even looked at a page
of our evidence," Schuessler recalled. "They said
they didn't have choppers up that night - we have
multiple eyewitnesses. They said maintenance records
of their CH-47s are routinely destroyed after six
months - that's a lie, they're kept for the life of
the vehicle. This is the kind of thing we were up
against. We didn't really stand a chance."
Schuessler said he never figured out what happened to
Betty Colby, and Vickie (the latter are still alive)
on that damp, dark Monday night 18 years ago. "But
I'm not giving up," he said. "I suspect some of those
helicopter pilots were probably burned as well. I'm
hoping they'll step forward at some point and talk."
But even if they do, we already know how it'll end -
at the slammed door of a pathology called "national
security."

Cabinet tenure, U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has begun
drawing plans for a new international order, one that would revamp
existing global institutions and spawn entirely new ones. Albright
sketched the outlines of her idea for a new, formal grouping of the
world's democratic nations in a wide-ranging interview. The new order,
she said, would enable its members to work more productively to
protect their own freedoms and help those countries within reach of
self-government take the final steps toward democracy. She cited four
initial candidates: Colombia, Ukraine, Nigeria and Indonesia. An aide
referred to Albright's concept as a kind of international ``democracy
club.'' ``The 21st century . . . ought to be the century of
democracy,'' Albright said during the interview, conducted in her
offices on the seventh floor of the State Department. ``We're going to
be putting an awful lot more emphasis on organizing the democracies,
working with them . . . so that they can work with each other
better.'' There will be no retreat from global responsibilities for
the United States as it enters the next century, she stressed. The

institutions normally not associated with the State Department -- such
as the International Monetary Fund or the World Bank -- could fall
within the scope of the department's review. Albright's formulation is
the latest effort by U.S. officials to define the U.S. role as the
sole superpower in the post-Cold War world. In 1991, at the end of the
Persian Gulf War, then President Bush talked about a ``new world
order'' that would avoid the strife of previous decades. In 1993, as
U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Albright suggested a policy of
``assertive multilateralism.'' Critics complained that her idea also
assigned too important a role to the U.N. bureaucracy and to other
members of the world organization. Today, Albright contends that the
nation faces ``a very dangerous situation'' in the short term caused
by the threatened spread of weapons of mass destruction, especially by
rogue states such as Iraq and North Korea and transnational terrorist

planned date for the introduction of Euro bank is January the first,
2002. But the BBC Europe correspondent says many politicians fear that
unless the public start handling euro notes and coins soon, enthusiasm
for the project will diminish -- and Belgium is pressing for an
earlier introduction date at a meeting today of European Union finance
ministers. Our correspondent says some ministers have have expressed
concern that an early introduction of Euro notes and coins will prove
technically difficult.

union'' ceremony blessed by more than 90 United Methodist ministers in
a dramatic mass defiance of a church law against same-sex marriages,
AP reported. More than 1,000 clergy, lay leaders, gay men, lesbians
and other supporters filled the Sacramento Convention Center for the
ceremony, which featured folk songs, dancing and poetry. Across the
street, a dozen protesters waved neon-green signs that read ``Brides
of Satan'' and ``Methodist Fag Church'' while three women sang, in
formal hymn style, ``God hates fags.'' ``Whatever they call it, it's
an abomination and a blasphemy in the eyes of God,'' said the Rev.
Fred Phelps of Topeka, Kan., who has led anti-gay pickets around the
country. The ceremony takes place in a state where voters next year
will decide whether only marriages between a man and a woman are
legal.

Israeli Defence Minister Yitzhak Mordechai praising his role in
advancing the Middle East peace process in an apparent snub to Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel radio said Saturday. "The United
States and Israel can continue to trust you to advance the peace
process and security in the region," the radio quoted Clinton as
telling Mordechai."Good will and political courage are necessary to
implement the Wye River agreement in its entirety despite the domestic
pressures and criticisms," the message said. The message made no
direct mention of Netanyahu who last month froze implementation of the
agreement Washington brokered in October cancelling a second pullback
from the West Bank Israel was required to carry out. The right-wing
prime minister has let it be known that he plans no further
implementation of the accord until elections for parliament and the
prime ministership in May and has set out a series of demands of the
Palestinians, some of which go beyond the agreement's requirements.
Special US envoy Dennis Ross on Tuesday called on both the Israelis
and Palestinians to honour their commitments under the frozen
land-for-security agreement. The Israeli defence minister has
maintained a careful silence about his political plans letting it be
known that he will stay in Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party for the
time being but does not rule out an eventual defection. Both
Netanyahu's main challengers -- opposition Labour leader Ehud Barak
and the centrist former army chief Amnon Lipkin-Shahak -- have tried
to persuade him to join their ticket in recent days

treatment of cancer, Jordan's King Hussein is expected to arrive home
Tuesday. Hussein, who received chemotherapy treatments at a clinic in
Minnesota, announced that he had recovered entirely and that his visit
back to the US in two months would only be a routine check-up. Hussein
spent the past few days resting at his apartment in London. He also
met with British Prime Minister Tony Blair to discuss the peace
process, Iraq and bilateral relations. At the end of his meeting with
Blair, Hussein said he "felt much better," but admitted being
exhausted from the prolonged period of treatment. His lengthy absence
from Jordan raised fears throughout the country about his health and
about the stability of the government that he has led for 46 years.
Two months ago, in a televised address from Minnesota, the king told
his subjects he would take measures to calm fears and settle the
question of the royal succession upon his return. One measure he will
take will be to reinstate the "Family Council," which sources in Amman
said was a first step in addressing anew the succession mechanism. The
current arrangement, in place since April 1, 1965, establishes Crown
Prince Hassan, 51, a brother of King Hussein, as the royal heir.
Pakistan imposes strict Islamic law

its northwest on Saturday that will include public punishments such as
lashings, amputations of hands and feet and executions. In the
traditional tribal regions, all civil and criminal cases will now be
decided according to the Koran - the Muslim holy book - in courts
headed by Muslim clerics, said an ordinance signed by the governor of
the Northwest Frontier province, who represents the federal
government. The regions affected lie in areas between the provincial
capital, Peshawar, and the border with Afghanistan, where a similar
form of Islamic law has been imposed by the Taliban religious army.
``The people of these areas wanted the Islamic law and Prime Minister
Nawaz Sharif's government has fulfilled its promise,'' said Sardar
Mehtab Khan, the chief minister of the province. In 1996, Muslim
clerics in the area led an armed revolt demanding Islamic laws in
their areas. Sharif introduced a controversial constitutional
amendment in August to scrap any remaining British laws in Pakistan
and replace them with laws based on the Koran. The amendment would
give the government sweeping powers, oblige people to pray five times
a day, and would allow the government to ``prescribe what is right and
to forbid what is wrong.'' The National Assembly, where Sharif enjoys
an absolute majority, passed the amendment in September. It is
awaiting a vote in the Senate, where Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League
does not enjoy a strong majority. Opposition parties, human rights
groups and non-Muslim minorities bitterly oppose Sharif's efforts to
introduce Islamic laws saying they violate the constitution.
Jordan declares drought, aid for farmers

farmers hit hard by drought, the country's agriculture minister said
Sunday. Mijhem Khreisha said the Cabinet on Saturday declared ``a
state of drought'' and approved creation of a fund to provide $16
million in interest-free loans to livestock breeders to help them buy
barley and grain. The government also will allocate $1 million for
livestock medicine and help provide water for livestock from desert
wells, Khreisha said. He said water rationing for the public will
continue, but declined to say if the there will be any changes to the
current program, under which water is pumped to families one day a
week. Rainfall accounts for about 60 percent of Jordan's water.
Khreisha said rainfall in December and January was just 2 percent of
the seasonal average. The country also gets water from the Jordan
River. It lacks the resources to build desalination plants like those
in the Gulf. The drought in recent months prompted nationwide Muslim
prayers for rainfall.
US, North Korea end nuclear talks with prospects

United States adjourned talks Sunday on gaining access to what it
believes is an underground site North Korea is using to develop
nuclear weapons. U.S. Ambassador Charles Kartman and North Korean
Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Gye Gwan will meet again next weekend
after a round of more general peace talks during the week, U.S. and
North Korean diplomats said. The wider talks, which start Tuesday,
involve North and South Korea, along with the United States and China.
The four sides launched the talks 13 months ago in an effort to
replace the 1953 Korean War armistice with a permanent peace treaty.
Until now, participants have made only slow headway on procedural
issues. Progress on the nuclear issue was expected to set the tone for
the week's four-party talks. Washington has so far rejected North
Korean demands for $300 million in compensation to inspect the
Kumchangni underground site, which was revealed last summer in
satellite photos. Pyongyang says it needs the money because it won't
be able to use the facility after outsiders have seen it, but denies
it uses the site for nuclear weapons. Detection of the site has
renewed fears about the nuclear ambitions of the North's reclusive
Communist government and inflamed tensions on the divided Korean
peninsula. The North Korean and American diplomats, who refused to
give their names, gave no details about the adjourned round of weekend
talks.Two previous rounds of U.S.-North Korean talks in Washington and
New York failed to make any progress. Dispute over the underground
site has compounded the tensions raised when North Korea fired a
rocket over Japan at the end of August. The United States believes
North Korea launched a ballistic missile, and it is now working with
Japan to develop a new missile-defense system. Congress has pressured
the Clinton administration to cut financial aid for a nuclear energy
project agreed upon in 1994 if North Korea doesn't accept an
inspection at Kumchangni. The administration has ruled out paying any
cash to North Korea to inspect the site, but has hinted that it might
send more humanitarian aid to help ease food shortages and
malnutrition among the 22 million North Koreans.

hard look at military options as a fragile cease-fire unraveled in
Kosovo. The White House held a second day of strategy meetings, and
Secretary of State Madeleine Albright called allied leaders to discuss
bloody developments in the Serb province. ``Clearly, it's a precarious
situation,'' James P. Rubin, the State Department spokesman, said as
NATO ambassadors prepared to take up the latest crisis in an emergency
session in Brussels, Belgium. ``We are going to do all that we can do
to preserve the cease-fire,'' he said. In her consultations, Albright
telephoned the foreign ministers of Britain, France, Italy, the
Netherlands and Norway, as well as U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
She sent a message to Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov. At the
White House, President Clinton was working on his State of the Union
message but was kept informed of Kosovo developments by Sandy Berger,
his national security assistant. Berger's deputy, James Steinfield,
presided at a meeting of senior officials from the State Department,
the Pentagon and other parts of the U.S. government. It was their
second meeting in two days on Kosovo. Undersecretary of State Thomas
Pickering and Undersecretary of Defense Walter Slocombe were among
participants. ``Obviously, it's a very difficult situation and an
outrage to everybody,'' David Leavy, the spokesman for the National
Security Council, said of the massacres in southern Kosovo of 45
ethnic Albanians. ``We are working for justice and accountability.''
Fighting broke out Sunday in the same area. In a statement, Rubin
said, ``The Serb return to the area was a provocation, with the
predictable result of instigating these clashes.'' The statement
blamed the massacre on Serb security forces for the massacre. The
White House and State Department urged both Serbs and ethnic Albanians
to uphold a cease-fire declared in October when American mediator
Richard Holbrooke brokered an agreement with Yugoslav President
Slobodan Milosevic. Clinton has termed the latest Serb offensive a
clear violation, however. William Walker, the American head of an
international force verifying the cease-fire, has called the massacre
a crime against humanity. Milosevic promised in October to pull out
special Serb police units and to contain Yugoslav troops. At the time,
Milosevic and the Serbs were faced with a threatened bombing campaign
as 400 NATO warplanes prepared for action. That threat was leveled
indirectly again Sunday, as Rubin said NATO should review its
contingency plans at the Brussels meeting in preparation for dealing
with the crisis. ``There should be no doubt of NATO's resolve,'' he
said.
Palestinians agree to peace talks in U.S.

Washington next month to try to salvage the Mideast peace pact and are
waiting for Israel's response, a top Palestinian said Sunday. An aide
to Israeli Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon said Israel had not been
informed of plans for such a meeting, but was open to it. ``We'll meet
with them on the moon if that's what they want,'' said Raanan Gissin.
Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said the meeting was the idea of US
peace envoy Dennis Ross who invited chief negotiators from both sides
to meet with him in Washington in early February. Israeli Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suspended the U.S.-brokered Wye agreement
over what it claims are Palestinian violations. ``We want to show that
we have implemented our part of the agreement and we want the
Americans to be the ones to say if we have implemented or not, not Mr.
Netanyahu,'' Erekat said. In Washington, State Department spokesman
James P. Rubin said he did not know if a meeting has been set up but
added that ``we have been trying to take steps'' to promote the peace
process. Top negotiators for both sides haven't met for a month amid
disputes over the Wye accords, in which Israel was to withdraw from
portions of the West Bank in exchange for a Palestinian crackdown on
violent groups that oppose Israel. Meanwhile Sunday, Israel continued
to accuse the Palestinians of violating that land-for-security
agreement, this time by releasing activists of the militant groups
Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat had ordered
the releases earlier in the day of dozens of prisoners, some of whom
were suspected of activity in the anti-Israeli groups. Israel has
repeatedly charged Arafat's Palestinian Authority with arresting
radicals for a short time in order to appease Israel, and then quietly
releasing the suspects. Hamas and Islamic Jihad oppose peace with
Israel and have taken responsibility for many deadly attacks that have
killed scores of people. Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai
held meetings with top Palestinian officials in recent weeks to work
out security coordination in the fight against terror, his office said
Sunday. President Clinton, who helped broker the Wye accord in
October, sent a message to Mordechai asking the defense minister to
press for implementation of the agreement. ``The successful outcome of
those talks demonstrated that, with goodwill and political courage,
even the most seemingly intractable problems ... can be solved,''
Clinton wrote in the Jan. 6 letter provided by Mordechai's office.

dictator Saddam Hussein last month. The fatal blow was to come from a
missile attack but it was cancelled the last minute after it was
decided that there was too high a risk of failure. According to the
London Sunday Times, the window of opportunity discovered by Mossad
was small with Saddam's arrival at his mistress's village in
northwestern Iraq was difficult to predict, but his schedule rarely
varied once he was there. He was to be hit upon leaving the home. The
Iraqi president usually arrived around dusk. After visiting relatives
in the area, he would spend the night at the mistress's home. In the
morning he would go to a secret military site nearby. The Mossad had a
source, which claimed to know in advance when Saddam would see the
woman. If the accounts of Saddam's routine were correct, then for
15-20 minutes between leaving her and reaching the safety of the
military site, he was vulnerable. Mossad believed that was enough to
attempt the assassination. To confirm the quality of the intelligence,
a Mossad agent infiltrated Iraq and surveyed the location. He returned
to Israel with good quality close-up photographs of the dictator.
Mossad experts confirmed that they portrayed Saddam. The plotting
began. General Amiram Levine, who was appointed deputy head of Mossad
last summer, persuaded the prime minister, that the intelligence was
sound. As Netanyahu's former commanding officer in the army, Levine
had the confidence of the prime minister. Netanyahu set in motion a
plan to use the information to wipe out Saddam. The plan, almost
certain to be shelved now that it has been revealed, has been leaked
because military intelligence analysts believed the assassination of
Saddam would irreparably damage the Middle East peace process and
Israel's future relations with Arab countries. Saddam appears to have
survived yet another threat.
Germany to host conference from World Bank

to participate in a conference organized by the World Bank in Germany
in February, to discuss the dedication of $3.3 billion for
infrastructure projects in the West Bank and Gaza Strip through 2005.
Sources from the World Bank's delegations in Cairo and Ramallah told
ArabicNews.com that the conference will discuss a report on the
deterioration of the Palestinian economy to press Israel to give the
Palestinian government taxes and customs amounting to $850 million
annually. Meanwhile, the sources expected that the donor states could
demand limited guarantees dictating the expansion of credit upon which
they agreed in the meeting held on November 30, 1998 in Washington,
which Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, US President Bill Clinton
and 17 foreign ministers attended.

creation of a new world grouping to counter US domination in a speech
Saturday to mark the eighth anniversary of the 1991 Gulf War. "Iraq
proposes the creation of a new grouping of countries which desire
serious cooperation in the ecomomic, political and military fields and
want to safeguard world peace," Saddam said in the speech broadcast on
the London-based Arab News Network. He said such a grouping had been
made a necessity by "the policy of the United States, Britain, Zionism
and their allies which has become a danger for security and stability
in the world."
Arabs oppose Baghdad withdrawing recognition of Kuwait

Sun Jan 17 , 1999 -- The Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) urged Iraq to
positively handle international resolutions and opposed Baghdad's
threats to withdraw its recognition of the Kuwaiti state, stateing
that attempts to temper with Kuwait's independence will not be
permitted. The APU said in a statement that Kuwait is internationally
recognized and is an effective member of the Arab League as well as
the United Nations and withdrawal of recognizing it is not allowed.
The council expressed fears of international reactions toward the
consent of the Iraqi National Council on a recommendation to the Iraqi
leadership to refuse all resolutions issued by the UN Security Council
and stop dealing with UNSCOM.
South Africans march in support of Hamas

through Cape Town on Friday chanting anti US, British and Israeli
slogans after the High Court overturned a ban on their protest. The
protesters, watched closely by heavily armed police in armored
personnel carriers, chanted "Death to America", "Death to Tony Blair",
"Death to Israel" and "Long live Hamas" to the beat of drums. The
90-minute march passed without incident. Last month, following the US
and British air strikes against Iraq, a Cape Town synagogue was bombed

Iran-backed group is ready for any confrontation with Israel and has
pledged to continue a war of attrition against the continued Israeli
presence in the security zone. Speaking during a rally in Beirut
marking World Jerusalem Day, Nasrallah said his guerrillas do not fear
death and noted that Israel has resorted to new measures "by facing
the bullet and rocket with air raids on our positions in hills and
valleys.'' Israel Radio reported that on Friday, most likely to mark
World Jerusalem Day, Hizbullah gunman attacked Israeli outposts along
the entire security zone.

On Jan 31, 1999 the moon will experience a prenumbral eclipse. In
addition, this date is also host to the second full moon of the month,
called a "blue moon." This day (Sh'vat 15) also marks the beginning of
the New Year for Trees, so we thought it a good time to take a look at
this Jewish celebration.
This particular celebration is not tied into any specific religious ritual
nor is it associated with a special synagogue service in any way. The
modern-day version of this Jewish celebration is similar to and
somewhat influenced by America's Arbor Day, in that saplings are
planted and donations are made to reforestation programs throughout
Israel.
The New Year for Trees celebration however is not new for it dates
back before the birth of Christ.

Topic: Tu B'Shvat, The New Year for Trees

The first Mishna in the tractate of Rosh HaShanah tells us that there
are four "new years." One of these is the new year for trees...The
holiday is called Tu B'Shvat because "Tu" is the pronunciation of the
numeral 15 when spelled out (the letter "tes" and the letter
"vav"). Hence, Tu B'Shvat means the 15th of Sh'vat.
What significance does a new year have for trees? For what purposes
does the year start on the 15th of Sh'vat for trees? The new year for
trees can be analogized to the beginning of a fiscal year. There are a
series of commandments relating to crops, produce, and harvests that
are only practiced in the land of Israel...After grains and fruit are
gathered, there is a mandatory gift called "Terumah" that must be
given to any person who is a Kohan, a "priest." After this gift is
given, there are then a series of gifts that can be generalized under the
term "Ma'aser," meaning "a tenth." The first of these gifts is called
"Ma'aser Rishon" - The First Tenth. This gift, consisting of 1/10th of
the harvest, is given by the farmer to any member of the tribe of Levi
after the "Terumah" has been taken. After this gift has been given to
the Levi, there are two other Ma'aser gifts, only one of which is taken
in any particular year. (There is a system that dictates which
Ma'aser is given in which year). The first of these "gifts" is called
"Ma'aser Sheni" - The Second Tenth. This "gift" consists of 1/10th of
the remaining crops, and it is to be taken by the owner of the field
to Jerusalem to be eaten there. The other "Ma'aser" is "Ma'aser Ani"
- TheTenth of the Poor. This "gift" consists of 1/10th of the
remaining crops, and it is to be given to poor people.
We have taken for granted that when these gifts are given, they
consist of wholly formed, ripened, and harvested produce. We all
know that the agricultural seasons for planting and harvesting do not
usually coincide with the beginning and end of our calendar. As these
gifts are gifts of produce which depend on a yearly cycle (as each
"year's" harvest is subject to these gifts, in addition to the fact that
the gift may differ from year to year, as mentioned above), a definition
of a "year" is needed so we know the cut-off point for inclusion of the
produce in a specific year, and hence subject to a specific year's gift
requirement. The beginning of the agricultural year for trees as far as
these gifts go is the 15th of Sh'vat - the New Year for Trees...
Another question still remains: Why is this new year in the month of
Sh'vat? The Gemora in the tractate of Rosh HaShanah tells us that by
this point in the year, the majority of the rainfall to come during the
year has already arrived. Therefore, the trees have already started to
grow, and this is the time when fruits begin forming on the trees.
Because the fruits begin to grow at this time, it is fitting that we start
the New Year for trees (which has significance to the fruits produced
and the gifts the fruit are subject to) at this time.

It is not for me to argue in favor of the existence of the New
World Order conspiracy. What is unarguable is that literally
every American politician who left a profound legacy on the
Middle East, and especially Israel, was and is a member of the
Manhattan think tank considered the headquarters of the NWO,
the Council On Foreign Relations (CFR). A short list of some of
the better known characters would include Henry Kissinger and
his deputy Joseph Sisco, Cyrus Vance, James Baker, Warren
Christopher, Walter Mondale, Madeleine Albright et al. Beneath
this level of public exposure lies an insidious cabal of CFR
members such as Edgar Bronfman, head of the World Jewish
Congress and Henry Seigman, chairman of the American Jewish
Congress, who exert a powerful influence on Israeli and diaspora
leaders and ultimately on Jewish public opinion. All the evidence
more than just indicates that the current Middle East peace
process was hatched by the CFR and is promoted with all the
necessary weapons at its disposal. This peace process is a
surefire formula for war...and soon. The year 2000 will most likely
see Israel and its neighbors caught up in bloody turmoil.
The Oslo Accords- Made in New York
In August 1993, the Israeli government headed by Yitzhak Rabin
announced that it was on the verge of signing a "peace" accord
with the PLO. The American public was told that Washington
was completely caught off guard by the announcement and was
even angry for being left out of the negotiations held in Oslo.
Later testimony by actors in the Oslo Accord tell a very different
story. In February, 1994 I interviewed one of the two Israeli Oslo
negotiators, Ron Pundak. He told me that, "From the first day we
arrived in Oslo we coordinated our negotiations with the State
Department. At the end of each day's sessions, we reported back
to Washington. Warren Christopher was very skeptical at first,
but later became most helpful to us." In August 1995, Rabin told
NY Times columnist William Safire that he never wanted to
become involved with this peace process. He admitted that he
was ordered to by President George Bush at a meeting in
Kennebunkport, Maine in September, 1992. Bush demanded that
Rabin, "prepare the Israeli public for some painful withdrawals."
The CFR had long before corrupted Rabin, in large part through
his "friendship" with Kissinger and now was calling in its cards.
The same grooming and corrupting process has taken place
throughout the top rungs of the Israeli political leadership,
including with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu who has now
isolated himself from his government by carrying on what Rabin
was forced to begin: Israel's weakening and then demise.
Goals Of "Peace"
Although Rabin was the tool to sell Oslo to the Israeli public, the
ultimate goals of this peace process were taken over by Foreign
Minister Shimon Peres and his deputy, Yossi Beilin. Ron Pundak
noted, "Beilin doesn't believe in borders. He thinks they are the
root cause of conflict and doesn't care if Israel loses hers."
Shimon Peres advanced such thinking with a program he called
The New Middle East. In his vision, Israel would give up its
present borders, including its most vital strategic positions, to
join in an economic union with its Arab neighbors. To secure the
pullback of Israel's present borders to those of 1948, some
200,000 Jews would have to be removed from their homes. The
Israeli government, through Beilin, obligated itself to carrying out
a plan of delegitimization, in fact demonization, of the Jewish
residents of the Administered Territories and later the Golan
Heights, as a prelude to their forced removal. The secret clauses
of Oslo were leaked by an alarmed employee of a government
ministry, first to Jerusalem Post reporter Steve Rodan. After a
three month fact checking period, the Post printed the less
frightening details on its front page and suffered expensive
government retaliation immediately after. Through an
intermediary, I was given the details of what the Post backed off
printing, which I published in my newsletter Inside Israel. Beilin's
plan called for a covert war against the "settlers" or Jewish
residents of disputed territories, which included incriminating the
innocent in timely outrages and murdering public figures to instill
terror and uncertainty. This plan ultimately led to the
assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. When these
charges were first published, there was widespread disbelief that
the political leadership of Israel could be so evil. Today in Israel,
thanks to the bungled Rabin murder, perhaps a third of the public
accept that this covert war did take place and is still taking place.
It is inevitable, that by the year 2000, the festering coverup of the
Rabin assassination will finally break down. When the truth
comes out, that Rabin's convicted assassin was a minor fall guy
for a high level international conspiracy, and that the leaders of
the ruling Labor government carried out the hit, a sense of utter
dismay and abandonment will erode the very foundations of
Labor Zionism. The effects will be profound beyond immediate
comprehension. One would hope that the ultimate result will be a
massive reform of the Israeli political system.
What The Outsiders Want
In July, 1997, the CFR finally revealed its plans for Israel in its
Middle East Task Force report, headed by Henry Seigman. All
doubts about the CFR's intentions evaporated in the report. It
was recommended that Israel withdraw to its 1948 lines, that
Jerusalem be divided and that half the city be the capital of a
Palestinian state. The world now knew for a written fact what
were the ultimate goals of the diplomacy of CFR members
Albright and Clinton. The task force report was a formula for
guaranteed war. And, in fact, on a global plane, what has been
done to Israel is no different than what was previously and
subsequently arranged for Bosnia, Croatia, Rwanda, Somalia,
Kosovo et al. Bitter enemies were armed to the teeth and through
diplomacy, forced to cooperate with each other elbow to elbow.
One spark was all that was needed to explode numerous peoples
placed in this situation recently and that spark will fly in Israel
before or during the year 2000. Probably several months before.
Superficially, Israel is just another in a long line of nations
chosen for chaos in preparation for the international change of
status quo called the New World Order. But there is far more to
the story and it centers around Jerusalem. There is a much
symbolism surrounding Jerusalem and the end of the millenium
and not a few people want a piece of the city when the flames die
down. First among them is the Vatican. In a story broken first by
La Stampa in Italy and Shishi in Israel, and later verified with
documented proof in Haaretz, in May 1993, Shimon Peres
promised the pope hegemony of the Old City of Jerusalem by the
end of the year 2000. In October of 1998, the Vatican forced out
Hebrew University, the tenants of a large property they own in
West Jerusalem and are now building an embassy to be opened
prior to the millenium. Barely a month later, the Holy See
demanded a say in the final status of Jerusalem as dictated by the
first Oslo Accord. If the Vatican gets its way and inherits political
control over the holy sites of Jerusalem, it will be greeted by
many hundreds of thousands of Protestant groups from America
and Europe who are planning to descend on the city prior to and
during the year 2000 in anticipation of a messianic return. To
satisfy these hopes, prophecies of Gog and Magog may have to
be self-fulfilled.
The War Of The Millenium
War is a near certainty and numerous scenarios could presage it.
Most likely it boils down to the PLO and its sister organizations
creating some atrocity too big for Israel to ignore. Troops will try
to crush the Palestinian Authority and neighboring Arab states
will attack Israel on land or with missiles to defend Islamic honor.
Israel, now withdrawn from many of its most strategic defensive
positions, and with an army of 50,000 PLO "policemen" standing
mere meters from its cities will be overwhelmed and forced to use
unconventional weapons. The big powers will then step in, send
foreign (ie UN) troops en masse to keep the peace, dictate terms
over the sovereignty of Jerusalem and greet the new millenium
with a New World Order.

From the Younger Generation:
A couple of items, here, received via e-mail. Well worth your few
minutes to read.
1) While this e-list is global, and some of you don't care what goes
on in America, what goes on with our president has global
implications. For you who are not "American" please understand that
not all of us from the US approve of our leader, in spite of what the
media is telling you about opinion polls and 'job approval ratings'...
including last night's 'pep rally'. (Nobody I talk with is ever
willing to admit they voted for him!! ..even amongst non-Christians!
I'm almost 50 and I've never been polled!) If the Senate fails to
impeach him, however, that will likely signal this country's
soon-demise. Not because of politics or the president's acts of
treason (not even being addressed), but because of this country's
total moral, spiritual malaise and corruption. I think this
16-year-old has it about spot-on with... "Character Matters"
2) While the writing of the 8-year old contains many doctrinal goofs,
this child-like perspective gave me a few chuckles in... "Why I
Believe in God"

~ 1) Character Matters:
The letter below was written by sixteen-year-old Christopher Vincent.
It appeared in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette [Ed: Arkansas being our
president's 'home' state.]
RE: Character Matters, says 16-year-old To the Editor:
I am 16 years old. Though I am not old enough to vote, I am writing
this on behalf of my generation. These are my sentiments, too. Out
of the mouths of babes.
The recent speech by the President and the reaction of our nation to
it gives me reason to write this letter in hope that those who read it
will be challenged to look closely at the condition of our nation.
In the President's speech he admitted to having a relationship with
Monica Lewinsky that was "improper" and "wrong." Then he said that it
was time to move on.
Many people have said that the President's private affairs are his own
business and people should not pry. Others have said that the
President's private affairs do not affect the job he does. The
President himself touched lightly upon the supposed injustice of
prying into his personal life in his speech.
[Ed: I don't know how "lightly"!! He's done quite a bit of whining on
this!!]
Hugo Grotius once said that a man cannot govern a nation if he cannot
govern a city, he cannot govern a city if he cannot govern a family,
he cannot govern a family unless he can govern himself, and he cannot
govern himself unless his passions are subject to reason.
The President is accountable to the people. We must know whether he
can control himself or not. If the President cannot control himself,
he certainly is not capable of governing a nation. Yet we sit in our
selfishness and refuse to look at the truth because it does not feel
good.
We look at the nation and see a booming economy. We look around and
see prosperity and say, "Why should we mess this up?" And yes, Mr.
Clinton has helped with all these things. But there are better things
than financial security, and there are worse things than poverty. We
give the control to a man who can make us feel good but cannot control
himself.
I would like to call your attention to a recent international affair
where Pakistan and India were developing nuclear weapons. The
President offered a deal to Pakistan saying that if they would stop
developing nuclear weapons the United States would protect them in the
case of an attack.
The Pakistani minister of foreign affairs said that he did not believe
that the President (Clinton) would follow through on his promise.
This was because he saw the character of our President and realized he
could not be trusted.
This endangered the lives of the citizens of Pakistan and India, more
than 900 million people. Although war has not broken out, we must
heed the warning: the character of the President effects the entire
world .
The American people have chosen to become selfish, and my
generation-your children-are growing up seeing the highest authority
in America, a man who cannot control himself. Why should I put others
first when the President himself will not even put his duty to his
wife or his nation before his sexual desires? I'm asking you, the
generation that holds the voting power, to think of your children and
the future of the world. If we cannot trust our President to fulfill
his marriage vows, can we trust him to do what he has promised us?
And if we cannot trust the man our parents elect, can we trust our
parents?
You owe it to the world, you owe it to God, and you owe it to your
children to consider this.

~ 2) WHY I BELIEVE IN GOD:
Written by Danny Dutton, age 8, from Chula Vista, California, for his
third grade homework assignment to "Explain God."
"One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace
the ones that die so there will be enough people to take care of
things on earth.
He doesn't make grown-ups, just babies. I think because they are
smaller and easier to make. That way, He doesn't have to take up His
valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that
to mothers and fathers.
God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot
of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at
times besides bedtime.
God doesn't have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this.
Because He hears everything there must be a terrible lot of noise in
His ears, unless He has thought of a way to turn it off.
God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps
Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting His time by going over
your mom and dad's head asking for something they said you couldn't
have.
Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think there are
any in Chula Vista. At least there aren't any who come to our church.
Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work like walking on
water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who
didn't want to learn about God. They finally got tired of Him
preaching to them and they crucified Him.
But He was good and kind like His Father and He told His Father that
they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said
OK.
His Dad (God) appreciated everything that He had done and all His hard
work on earth so He told Him He didn't have to go out on the road
anymore, He could stay in heaven. So He did.
And now He helps His Dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things
which are important for God to take care of and which ones He can take
care of Himself without having to bother God. Like a secretary only
more important.
You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to hear you because
they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the times.
You should always go to Church on Sunday because it makes God happy,
and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God.
Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun like
going to the beach. This is wrong! And, besides, the sun doesn't
come out at the beach until noon anyway.
If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be
very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like
to camp, but God can.
It is good to know He's around you when you're scared in the dark or
when you can't swim very good and you get thrown into real deep water
by big kids.
But you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I
figure God put me here and He can take me back anytime He pleases.
And that's why I believe in God."

In answer to the previous post regarding the opinions of those who do not
live in the United States (I do not use "Americans", as I know South
Americans, among others, also consider themselves "Americans") , please
understand that there are many, many of us (the polls don't lie--we are
the majority) who think this whole impeachment business is just partisan
politics, ridiculous witch-hunting, and a total waste of our money as
taxpayers.
We feel that the rest of the world is now looking upon our Republican
leaders as hypocrites, as do many of us ourselves---for various reasons,
not the least being that many of us think that many of the Republican
leaders and their supporters have themselves had illicit affairs, let
alone questionable morals when it comes to the business of politics.
Then add in the media variety of sexuality that is accepted by most of
our society as suitable television and movie watching material for their
own families, yet they would turn around and point fingers at the
president? How many Republicans allow this type of media exposure in
their own families?
Many, many of us do support our president, believe he has, and is, doing a
wondeful job running this country, and we think his private life is just
that--PRIVATE. I'll tell you something else too--if it would keep our
senators, congressmen, etc. happy, and their egos satisfied, I am all for
providing an intern to every one of them!
For some reason the Republicans are completely disregarding the wishes of
we, the PEOPLE, in this country. We, the PEOPLE, have repeatedly said
that we do not want our president impeached, we do not think what he did
is an impeachable offense, and we want this FARCE of "justice" to stop
immediately!
I believe there are provisions in our constitution for we, the PEOPLE to
overthrow our government when it is no longer serving the wishes of we,
the PEOPLE. The next elections will ceratinly reflect this. We do not
feel that the Republicans involved in this farce are serving our wishes,
not only that, but that they continually willfully DISREGARD our wishes to
stop their partisan agenda.
The Republicans had better enjoy their moment in the sun while they can,
because we the PEOPLE are sick and tired of their partisan attempts at a
coup-de-etat (and that is most CERTAINLY what this whole thing is about),
and we will be making our disgust and weariness of being beat over the
head repeatedly with this nonsense well known in the next elections. We
won't forget--and every one of the Republicans involved in this matter
had better be squeaky clean in their own personal lives (a highly
laughable concept) after the next election, because then the tables will
be turned.
Not only that, but we are sick and tired of these fanatical people who
insist on hypocritically hiding behind "God" as an excuse for their own
partisan politics. You are giving God a bad name, and doing yourselves no
favors

Foreign Report: 10,000 Russian experts in Iran

TEL AVIV (January 21) - The Mossad estimates that up to 10,000
Russian experts are assisting Iran's biological, chemical and nuclear weapons
programs, according to the newsletter Foreign Report, to be published
in London today.
The government's dissatisfaction with Moscow's unreadiness to block
leaks of weapons technologies to Iran has led to a chill in defense
relations between Israel and Russia, defense sources said.
According to Foreign Report, Israel was attempting to put pressure on
Russia by postponing a trip there by Defense Minister Yitzhak
Mordechai, whose visit was to have coincided with the resumption of a
defense cooperation agreement.
The government has also frozen cooperation between the Israeli arms
industry and the largest Russian arms exporter, which was seeking
techniques for rebuilding tanks and aircraft captured during wars.
Defense sources said Mordechai did not postpone a trip, but had simply
never accepted the Russian invitation.
Mordechai, who informed US President Bill Clinton of the Mossad
assessment during a recent visit to Washington, also reported that
Russian experts were helping Iran to develop Shihab-3 and Shihab-4
ballistic missiles, as well as a missile identified as the SS-400,
which will have a range of 3,600 kilometers.
The newsletter said Israel believes the missiles might be in operation
by 2002 and capable of carrying nuclear warheads by 2007.
A defense official told reporters, however, that Iran has delayed a
second test launch of its Shihab-3 surface-to-surface missile because
of operational problems.
The official, who refused to be identified or directly quoted, said
the Iranian missile program was still on schedule and the Shihab-3
would probably be operational by next year.
Iran first tested the missile last July. Its 1,300-km. range puts
Israel among the countries within its reach.
The official told reporters in Tel Aviv that Iran was having trouble
trying to apply sophisticated Russian technology to a simplistic
missile frame it purchased from North Korea.
Iran said the missile is based on domestic technology and design.
The Israeli official said the July 22 missile test showed most of its
systems worked.
The official repeated the charge - which Moscow denies - that Russian
firms were selling Iran missile and nuclear technology.
Russia has stepped up sales under Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov, the
official said.
The US last week imposed sanctions on three Russian institutes for
allegedly helping Iran develop missile and nuclear capabilities.
The Israeli official said Moscow had sanctioned missile and nuclear
deals with Iran, because it needed the money and hoped to restore its
political influence in the region.
He said Iran could have enough fissile material within seven years to
build at least one nuclear device.
Israeli officials are also reportedly concerned that Russian
scientists might have smuggled a super-computer into Iran to help in
the development of Iran's projected nuclear bomb, Foreign Report said.
According to the newsletter, "American intelligence officers are
inclined to believe the Israelis' report of a serious leak, but they
are not sure the Russian government is involved".
"The Israelis provided detailed information to support their
position," the newsletter continues. "However, they are said to have
produced little evidence that the Iran-bound Russian scientists are
carrying out official government work as officials.
Mordechai's spokesman Avi Benayahu acknowledged that some of the
Russians in Iran are there on their own.
"But if the Russians wanted to they could prevent it," Benayahu said.
"According to the information in the hands of the Israeli defense
establishment and of Israeli and Western intelligence agencies, the
cooperation with Iran has not been reduced and has in fact even
increased," Benayahu said.

was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the
prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the
throne.

In the other courts they were not bound to retire or change their
place; but in all they gave themselves to prayer, and that in deep
silence: "The fathers ordained prayers in the time of the daily
sacrifice": And of what kind soever the prayers were, whether their

prayers that passage seems to allude, Revelation 8:1,3.
When the incense and prayers were ended, the parts of the sacrifice
were laid upon the altar, and then the Levites began their psalmody,
and their sounding the trumpet.

I am in the process of reading "The Legends of the Jews" by Louis
Ginzberg. At the end of book 2, it speaks of the ten
plagues and here are some things that I found interesting therein:
*(Explaining the reasons for each plague) [The Egyptians] had been
in the habit of saying to the Israelites, "Go forth, plant ye trees
for us, and guard the fruit thereon." Therefore God brought the
locusts into the Egyptian border, to eat the residue of that which
was escaped, which remained unto them from the hail, for the teeth of
the locust are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the jaw teeth of a
great lion. [Rev 9:8 ...and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.]
*From the infliction of the first of the plagues until the passing
of the last, after which the Egyptians yielded all that Moses and
Aaron demanded, there elapsed a whole year, for twelve months is the
term set by God for the expiation of sins. The deluge lasted one
year; Job suffered one year; sinners must endure hell tortures for
one year, and the judgment upon Gog at the end of time will be
executed for the length of one year.
*Then Moses made known to him [Pharaoh] that God would turn the
water into blood, if he refused to let Israel go. In the warning we
can discern the difference between God and man. When a mortal harbors
the intention to do an injury to an enemy, he lies in wait for the
moment when he can strike an unexpected blow. But God is outspoken.
He warned Pharaoh and the Egyptians in public whenever a plague was
about to descend, and each warning was repeated by Moses for a period
of three weeks, although the plague itself endured but a single
week.
*"...Behold, tomorrow when the sun passes this point,"--whereat Moses
made a stroke upon the wall-- "I will cause a very grievous hail to
pour down, such as will be only once more, when I annihilate Gog with
hail, fire, and brimstone."
*Moses went a short distance out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread
abroad his hands unto the Lord, for he did not desire to pray to God
within, where there were many idols and images. At once the hail
remained suspended in the air. Part of it dropped down while Joshua
was engaged in battle with the Amorites, and the rest God will send
down in His fury against Gog.
*...God looked upon the suffering of Israel, and smote the first-born
of the Egyptians, and it is one of the four nights that God has
inscribed in the Book of Memorial. The first of the four is that in
which God appeared to create the world; all was waste and void, and
darkness brooded over the abyss, until the Lord came and spread light
round about by His word. The second night is that in which God
appeared unto Abraham at the covenant of the pieces. In the third
night He appeared in Egypt, slaying the first-born of the Egyptians
with His right hand, and protecting the first-born of the Israelites
with His left. The fourth night recorded will be that in which the
end of the redemption will be accomplished, when the iron yoke of the
wicked kingdom will be broken, and the evil-doers will be destroyed.
Then will Moses come from the desert, and the Messiah from Rome, each
at the head of his flock, and the word of God will mediate between
them, causing both to walk with one accord in the same direction.
Israel's redemption in future days will happen on the fifteenth
of Nisan, the night of Israel's redemption from Egypt, for thus did
Moses say, "In this night God protected Israel against the Angels of
Destruction, and in this night He will also redeem the generations of
the future."

*When the imminent destruction of the Temple was announced to King

In the Messianic time the prophet Elijah will restore all these
concealed objects.
*This enemy of Israel bore the name Amalek to denote the rapidity
with which he moved against Israel, for like a swarm of locusts he
flew upon them; and the name furthermore designates the purpose of
this enemy, who came to suck the blood of Israel. This Amalek was a
son of Eliphaz, the first-born son of Esau..

*In his [Amalek] expedition against Israel he made use of his kinship
with them, by pretending, at first, to be their friend and kinsman.
Before going over to open attack, he lured many unsuspecting Jews to
death by his kindly words. He had fetched from Egypt the table of
descent of the Jews; for every Jew had there to mark his name on the
bricks produced by him, and these lists lay in the Egyptian archives.
Familiar with the names of the different Jewish families, Amalek
appeared before the Jewish camp, and calling the people by name, he
invited them to leave the camp, and come out to him. "Reuben! Simeon!
Levi! etc.," he would call, "come out to me, your brother, and
transact business with me."
Those who answered the enticing call, found certain death at his
hands; and not only did Amalek kill them, but he also mutilated their
corpses, following the example of his grandsire Esau, by cutting off
a certain part of the body, and throwing it toward heaven with the
mocking words, "Here shalt Thou have what Thou desirest." In this way
did he jeer at the token of the Abrahamic covenant...Moses did not
himself set out to battle against this dangerous foe of Israel, but
he sent his servant Joshua...

*God had not only good cause to delay the giving of the Torah until
after the departure of Jethro, but the time He chose for bestowing it

woman freed from captivity, or an emancipated slave, may not enter
wedlock before she has for three months lived as a free Jewess, so
God also waited three months after the deliverance of Israel from the
bondage and the slavery of Egypt, before His union with Israel on
Mount Sinai. God furthermore treated His bride as did that king who
went to the marriage ceremony only after he had overwhelmed his
chosen bride with many gifts...
The third month was chosen for the revelation, because
everything that is closely connected with the Torah and with Israel
is triple in number. The Torah consists of three parts, the
Pentateuch, the Prophets, and the Hagiographa; similarly the oral law
consists of Midrash, Halakah, and Haggadah. The communications
between God and Israel were carried on by three, Moses, Aaron, and
Miriam. Israel also is divided into three divisions, priests,
Levites, and laymen; and they are, furthermore, the descendants of
the three Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For God has a
preference for "the third": It was the third of Adam's sons, Seth,
who became the ancestor of humanity, and so too it was the third
among Noah's sons, Shem, who attained high station. Among the Jewish
kings, too, it was the third, Solomon, whom God distinguished before
all others. The number three plays a particularly important part in
the life of Moses. He belonged to the tribe of Levi, which is not
only the third of the tribes, but has a name consisting of three

PENUMBRAL ECLIPSE
From some parts of the world tomorrow morning, there will be a
raretype of penumbral eclipse of the moon. More on who might get a
chance to see it -- and how to see it -- after this on Earth and Sky.
DB: I'm Deborah Byrd.
JB: And I'm Joel Block for Earth and Sky -- Saturday, January 30. If
you're hearing us from the western United States -- or especially from
somewhere in the Pacific -- be aware that there will be a special kind of
lunar eclipse that you can see tomorrow morning.
DB: This is a penumbral eclipse of the moon. In other words, the
moon will pass through the Earth's shadow. The key here is that
Earth's shadow has two parts -- a dark central umbra -- and a lighter
surrounding penumbra. And during tomorrow's eclipse, the dark part
of Earth's shadow will never touch the moon's face. So this is a subtle
kind of eclipse -- the moon will enter the lighter penumbral shadow of
Earth -- and most of the time this sort of eclipse isn't very noticeable.
JB: Still, tomorrow's eclipse might be more noticeable -- because
tomorrow the penumbral shadow will cover the moon completely.
Between the years 2001 B.C. to 2526 A.D., there will be 10,936 lunar
eclipses. And only 132 of those will be penumbral eclipses of this kind
-- when Earth's penumbral shadow completely covers the moon. Mid-
eclipse happens after moonset for the contiguous U.S. -- but some
shading might be seen from the Pacific Northwest around moonset --
around dawn tomorrow morning. If you're in Hawaii, you should have
a great view -- with mid-eclipse at 6:17 a.m. Hawaii time tomorrow.

SECOND FULL MOON
Tonight if you look in the evening sky, you'll find the second full
moon for the month of January. More on tonight's full moon -- and
the names for the full moons -- after this on Earth and Sky.
DB: I'm Deborah Byrd.
JB: And I'm Joel Block for Earth and Sky -- Sunday, January 31. If
you'll look in the sky this evening, you'll find a bright full moon -- the
second full moon for the month of January.
DB: In North American skylore, January's full moon carries the name
Old Moon or Moon After Yule. There's generally one full moon in
every month, and all of these full moons have names. But when there
are two full moons in a single month, the second one -- in recent years
-- has come to be called a Blue Moon.
JB: So there are two full moons this month -- but no full moons in
February. Then, in March, we'll have two full moons again -- on
March 2nd and 31st. Like every full moon, tonight's moon will be
beautiful just after it rises. When the moon is low on the horizon, it
might appear orange in color -- because then we're seeing the moon
through a greater thickness of atmosphere than when the moon is
overhead. Also, the moon near the horizon might look bigger -- due to
a psychological effect known as the moon illusion.
DB: So watch for tonight's full moon -- and mark your calendar for the
month of March when, once again, there will be two full moons in a

Hmmm interesting ... that is a little scary for us too.
But why would the Goat be the UN rather than the newly formed EU ?
It comes out the west ... western Europe ... and they have a
bitterness against us. They have been under our domination for a
good long while and are very angry about it.
What do you suppose is meant by the phrase "touched not the ground"
in verse 5 ?
