We do have a truly awesome Father.
I was one of the people whose personal emails 'bounced' attempting to contact David directly.

David, Deidre and Amber - I too rejoiced (and cried) with you at the brilliant resolution to our intercessions. Our wonderful God has performed many miracles through modern-day elders just following the Biblical injunctions on oil annointing and prayer.
May God continue to richly bless you and your family, David.
Pastor John.

Subject: [bprlist] Dozens of Palestinians Wounded in Fierce Gun Battle

Dozens of Palestinians Wounded in Fierce Gun Battle

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/htx/nm/20010212/wl/mideast_leadall_dc_1058.
html

GAZA (Reuters) - Over 40 Palestinians were wounded by bullets and
shrapnel during a fierce gun-battle with Israeli troops in the
southern Gaza Strip on Monday, Palestinian hospital officials said.

Around 50 Palestinian gunmen holed up inside the Khan Younis refugee
camp fought a protracted battle with Israeli soldiers guarding the
nearby Gush Katif settlement bloc.

The main battle lasted over six hours, but random exchanges of fire
continued late into the night.

Hundreds of Palestinians in the camp were forced to flee their homes
during the fighting and two houses caught fire. Palestinian witnesses
said several rifle-propelled grenades hit a mosque on the outskirts
of the refugee camp.

The area has become a frequent flashpoint for violence since a
Palestinian uprising erupted in late September after peace talks
became deadlocked. At least 387 people, mostly Palestinians, have
been killed in the unrest.

Palestinian hospital officials reported that 26 people were wounded
by gunfire, and 17 others were hit by shrapnel, adding that two of
the wounded were in critical condition.

Hospital officials said 69 other people were overcome by what they
described as a type of teargas that causes hysteria, and a dozen of
them were admitted to hospital.

``This was a type of gas that we had never seen before,'' a doctor at
Khan Younis's Nasser hospital told Reuters.

Television pictures taken at the hospital's emergency ward showed
several people lying on stretchers suffering from what appeared to be
severe breathing difficulties, and at least one was in convulsions.

The Israeli army dismissed the charge, saying it ``did not use any
type of gas whatsoever'' during the gun battle. It said soldiers set
off smoke bombs to cover their positions during the fighting. They
also denied firing tank or mortar shells.

A local Israeli commander said Palestinian gunmen had fired an anti-
tank rocket at an Israeli army post at the start of the fighting, but
it fell short and no one was hurt.

The head of a group of Palestinian gunmen who fought in the battle
told Reuters the Palestinian side used light and automatic weapons,
but denied firing an anti-tank rocket.

He said his men were trying to stop Israeli bulldozers from
destroying farm-land belonging to Al-Mawasi village, a community of
about 8,000 people situated several kilometers away on the other side
of Gush Katif.

===========================================================

THanks Stafford

Please feel free to pass on my comments

THanks Jerry for this one.

I had a similar experience:
1989 on a return visit to Israel - the first ever as a tourist ( I had
worked in Nazareth EMMS Hopspital for 2 separate years before and after
the 7-day war.

I had to leave the group early because of getting back to be an expert
witness at a Court Case in Edinburgh. I was booked to fly back on the
last plane that would guarantee my presence at the Court in Edinburgh.

I travelled from Jerusalem by [communal] taxi to Lydda Tel Aviv Airport.
I had to be there by 0600h so it was an early start. My travelling
companions were all Jewish and going for flights as well. There was no
conversation in the taxi.

The engine heated. OUr driver had to stop ... the water in the radiator
was low ... he was mystified ... Two of us had bottles of water whuch we
offered him ... and I prayed that somehow the Lord would get us there in
time...

we went a bit further .... we were still coming down from the Judean
foothills towards the plain ... engine heated ... no water ... yes you've
guessed it we had a leak ... the Jewish passengers very agitated wanted
to get another taxi and attempted to get one to stop ... eventually most
of them were off ... a few of us remained ... I had paid my fare and had
no spare money! I prayed for a good samaritan ...

Our driver was trying to get help ... he had radioed his base for
another taxi ... none available ... he tried to stop other taxis ...
none would ..

A car suddenly pulled in behind us full of Arabs on their way to work -
they hopped out and looked ... tested the water tank with some of their
emergency water ... it was a hose that had gone ... they could help and
they did replacing the hose, fill;ing yup our tank, making sure that we
aere Ok as the car started and were off ... yes other arab angels or
good samaritans.

I was almost 2 1/2 hours late at the check in ... I was not with the group
...that excited attention ... why? why? why? ... where had I stayed? ...
In Nazareth ... met with and eaten with Arabs ... my baggage and rucksac
was gone through with a tooth comb ... my flight was closed ... I was
repacked and running for it just as the BA Boeing was about to start
taxi-ing out and they stopped it .. I got a back row [smoker's seat ......
the only remaining seat in economy having advance requested non-smoking
as I have an alergy to tobacco smoke ] ... after take off was upgraded
to business class ... WOW! And there were there I believe the folks I
was appointed to meet!

God is truly a God of miracles!

Subject: [bprlist] In Gujarat, they burn TV, the `epicentre of evil'
From: owner-bpr@philologos.org

In Gujarat, they burn TV, the `epicentre of evil'
MUZAMIL JALEEL & MELVIN THOMAS

http://www.indian-express.com/ie/daily/20010212/ina12027.html

BHUJ/SURAT, FEBRUARY 11: In Teendarvaza, people took out their
television sets and set them ablaze on the road to prevent recurrence
of earth quakes. Around 24 sets had already been destroyed. Two
moulvis of the area had asked the people to destroy their TV sets
which are spreading obscenity and immorality in the society and thus
attracting God's wrath.

Moulvi Imtiyaz and Mufti Rouf had addressed a prayer gathering in
Khajori Vali masjid where they had asked the people to desist from
``all immoral activities if they wanted the quakes to stop.''

Altaf Mohammad Hussain Mansoori, a cloth merchant of Dalgadwad, who
had attended the prayer meeting said that the muftis asked the people
to ``immediately destroy these toys of Shaitan (devil)''. Mansoori
had taken out his brand-new television set to the road and destroyed
it immediately after he returned from the mosque. ``Everybody is
scared after the devastation of January 26. The Almighty showed a
glimpse of his wrath. We saw tall highrises and concrete buildings
crumble like a house of cards,'' he said. ``Who wants it to recur? It
is better to have no television and live.''

In Ahmedabad and Surat too, scores of Muslim families destroyed
television sets on Saturday night. Maulana Syed Khalil Ahmed Randeri
in Surat had blamed television programmes at a religious congregation
held in the Rani Talav area. ``This (the earthquake) clearly
indicates Allah's anger on humankind. Television is the epicentre of
all evil,'' he had said.

Soon, people in the Chowk Bazar, Saudagarwad, Rander, and Patni
Colony areas began to destroy television sets. Some threw them out on
the street. Some smashed them with rods at street corners. Some put
them on fire.

Gaffar Noormohammed Chandiwala, a resident of Saudagarhwad, had
purchased a TV set only a few days ago. ``I went home and broke my TV
set. My children used to watch Hindi movies and serials, and I think
this was creating an evil impression in their minds. It was necessary
to destroy the TV,'' he said.

Yunus Chakkiwala, president of the Surat Halai Memon Jamat and a
resident of Chowk Bazaar, said he did not have a TV set but he
motivated more than 10 people to destroy their TV sets.

The Maulana told The Indian Express that he did not provoke people
into doing what they did. ``They have not acted on my instruction;
they have only acted according to what Islam teaches. And this will
happen across the country, and abroad,'' he said.

Scared and shaken, the traumatised people of the earthquake-hit areas
are taking refuge in religion for solace. Temples and mosques have
hardly seen so many visitors before but now the fear of recurrence of
the quake had turned the population superstitious. First a wave of
scare had gripped the entire area after an astrologer had made a
forecast that another quake was to strike on February 3. And people
abandoned even those houses, which had not even developed cracks in
the earlier quake in fear. ``Everybody is scared. Nobody wants to
take any chances. If the forecast proves right, what then?'' said
Suresh Shah, a bank manager. ``I understand it is superstition. But
if you don't even believe in it, the woman-folk of the family force
you to do so,'' he said.

In fact, in the temporary shelters and tents pitched for the victims
of the quake across Gujarat, the chanting of Bhajans and Kirtans and
conduct of special prayers has become a regular feature. And in the
Muslim areas, people keep on reading verses from the Quran loudly.
``It is the only way to recover from such a tragedy. We accept it as
God's will. We believe that it had to happen and the only way to get
out of this shock is to seek God's help only,'' said Nurmohmad
Yousuf, a Muslim priest in Bhuj.

The Buchasanvasi Aksar Purshotam Swaminarayan Sanstha, which has sent
around 500 sadhus and volunteers to Bhuj for relief work, also
conducted a special Vishnu yagna. ``There were hundreds of those who
lost their family members in the quake. Many of them had their
relatives still buried beneath the rubble. This prayer was conducted
so that they get some shanti,'' said Brami Munni Swami of the BAPS
relief camp at the Swaminarayan temple in Bhuj.

The population of the Jains in Bhuj is around 6,000 and a majority of
them have moved to pilgrim centres -- the Bohotar Jenaleya (72
Temples) near Mandvi. ``We have a roof on our head here. And the
community leaders have made all the arrangements, from food to
medical care,'' said Shantibhai Morabia, who lost his three relatives
and house in the quake. ``And we also spend our time in prayers
seeking forgiveness for our sins.''

Subject: [bprlist] Rabbis loot Holocaust survivors' fund

Rabbis loot Holocaust survivors' fund
Funnel taxpayer dollars back to selves using kickbacks, synagogues
By Anthony C. LoBaido
=A9 2001 WorldNetDaily.com

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID21696

Two Brooklyn rabbis -- Jacob Bronner, who served as a top aide to
former New York Mayor Ed Koch and sat on the city's Human Rights
Commission, and Efroim Stein -- have pleaded guilty to taking
hundreds of thousands of dollars from a fund that had been set aside
for survivors of the Nazi Holocaust.

Project Social Care was set up in 1994 to assist needy Holocaust
survivors with job training, counseling, housing and medical care.
The program originally had a kitty of $2.5 million in taxpayer funds

The rabbis entered their guilty pleas on Friday.

Stein funneled money back to himself by utilizing family members and
kickbacks to his own synagogue. Both men, it appears, provided fake
bills for goods and services they never procured for needy Holocaust
survivors. Worse, the two men corrupted the Council of Jewish
Organizations of Borough Park with their largess.

In exchange for monies provided by Project Social Care, the council
was required to give kickbacks to businesses controlled by the two
rabbis. Several council members involved were tried and convicted.

"If you can't trust your own rabbi with your hard-earned tax dollars
to care for elderly Holocaust survivors, whom can you trust? It's
like finding out Mickey Mantle is a child molester. Or that your
president sold nuclear secrets to China in exchange for campaign
contributions -- wait, that did happen," said Bernie Cohen, a Long
Island-based stock trader.

"First of all, I live in this community, and these gentlemen are no
more rabbis than you are. Whoever heard of a rabbi serving as a top
aide to Mayor Koch? In our community, all boys study from
kindergarten about Hebrew studies, so many people feel that their
years of schooling entitle them to be called 'rabbi,'" Rabbi David
Eidensohn told WorldNetDaily.

"Some may even have passed an academic test and received ordination,"
Eidensohn continued. "This, however, does not mean that the community
chose these people as spiritual leaders. Believe me, there are plenty
of people who call themselves rabbi when they speak to Mayor Koch,
who would never use that term in their own community. Another thing
to keep in mind is that the secular media hates religious people, and
any Orthodox Jew is 'rabbi' if he commits a crime."

Eidensohn believes the New York Times is biased in its reporting
against Orthodox Jews.

"Here, again, is another very important story. What is happening to
government programs when a few hoods can rip off money like that?"
concluded Eidensohn.

Church cuts ties with Scout troop

http://www.insidedenver.com/drmn/living_columnists/article/0,1299,DRMN
_91_28105|116,00.html

Eagle Scout Geoffrey Sawtell, 17, stood before a full church and
several TV cameras Sunday in a tan shirt familiar to at least four
generations of youngsters.

Arrayed on Sawtell's chest and arms were the rewards of a lifetime
spent in scouting, including the Eagle medal and the God and Country
award.

But the most controversial emblem of all was the simplest -- the
patch for Troop 89, which was being disavowed at a specially
written "separation ceremony'' at Washington Park United Church of
Christ.

"Oh Lord, we come together,'' Sawtell prayed, "in memory and
appreciation of the good times afforded by Troop 89 in days gone
by.''

"(But) diversity is to be celebrated,'' 125 members replied, in
unison. "With utmost humility we stand in opposition to the Boy
Scouts of America's discriminatory policy . . . against our gay and
lesbian brothers and sisters.''

In 20 minutes, it was over -- Troop 89 was no longer sponsored by the
75-year-old congregation.

Last June, when the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed the right of the Boy
Scouts to bar homosexuals, the organization lost the loyalty of a
number of churches and organizations sympathetic to gay rights.

One of the latest is the Washington Park church community, which long
has called itself "open and affirming'' toward the gay community. So
after the ruling, 55 of the most active church members started
meeting to figure out a way to remain true to their beliefs and still
keep sponsoring Troop 89.

But the local and national Scout organization refused to budge from
its belief "that homosexuality is inconsistent with two elements of
Scout Law: to be morally straight and clean,'' said Ted Petranoff,
one of the active church members.

"I'm not telling the Boy Scouts how to do their job,'' Petranoff
said, "but as a congregation, we can't support that with any
integrity.''

Asked how many former Scouts were in the crowd, about 25 men stood.

Petranoff, 50, said he became a geologist, in part, because of the
cave explorations he did as a Scout. Peter Sawtell, 48, Geoff's dad
and a church official, was an Eagle Scout in Omaha.

Jeff Betsch, 37, sitting with his partner, John Rochard, 32, was a
Scout, too, but that was long before he acknowledged his
homosexuality.

"It was touching,'' he said of the ceremony.

For the youngest generation, some new church-sponsored organization
may take Scouting's place someday.

On Sunday, second-graders were invited to gather at the front of the
church, where they heard a children's sermon about love and were each
presented with Bibles, accompanied by a gentle, cautionary note from
Allyson Sawtell: "You don't have to agree with everything in it,''
she told the kids. "It's got some great stories.''

Sawtell -- Geoff's mother -- also addressed the crowd, saying that
Troop 89, which had several members present, wasn't at fault. She
said when the troop heard the news, one Scout burst out, "It isn't
fair,'' to which Sawtell agreed, saying, "I think Troop 89 has been
victimized by the national organization.''

The church is allowing Troop 89 to meet a few more times there while
it finds a new home. But it's more complicated for Geoff Sawtell, a
junior assistant scoutmaster who intends to remain in Troop 89 and
resist from within.

"I'm in a really awkward position,'' he said. "If the situation
arises I personally will make it very clear I will not take part in
any excluding activities. I'm trying to find a middle ground. It's
the best solution I can come up with.''

Religion writer Jean Torkelson visits churches, synagogues, temples
and mosques throughout the metro area to write about them each
Monday. Contact her at (303) 892-5055 or at
torkelsonj@RockyMountainNews.com.

Bravo!! That takes a lot of guts.

Many "christians" like to use the homosexuals as a scapegoat for today's
ills.

We are all sinners, deserving of love. No one should have to face life
as an outcast of both, society and of the church.

I am not gay. But I have walked the road as an exile. Punished by my
peers for being different. Humiliated for no real reason, laughed at
for asking a girl to a dance. Not chuckled at in private, but laughed
at hysterically in front of the entire 8th grade band. Once depressed
and alone, I found comfort in music written by artist who felt the same
way. I dressed drab and inconspicuous, not smiling much.

Then comes the looks of the "christian". Not realizing that I was
closer to Christ when I was in 1st. grade than most "devout" christians
in their middle ages, I had stumbling block after stumbling block laid
before me throughout my life. Even though I knew that listening to
"heavy metal" and being "anti-social" was not a sin, the adversary or
accuser within me would not let me be.

I look back and I ask "what was my crime"? I had a girls name, (I am a
male) I had sparkling blue eyes and curly hair, and I was a day
dreamer. For those reasons I was beat up, pushed around and humiliated
for the pleasure of others. How the hell am I not suppose to be
"anti-social" when society is anti-me?

Did I pick my name, my eye color, hair or attention span? NO! Just
like I did not pick my taste in women or hobbies.

If I did not pick any of these attributes or any of the things like my
resolve, intuition, intelligence, parents, strength, height, metabolism,
insight, or shortsightedness, I have a hard time thinking that someone
else choose his sexual preference. Why would someone choose something
that would not be satisfying sexually, i.e. if you really prefer women
a man would not be satisfying, but also lead to a path that would be so
horrendous? If you are gay you will be ridiculed, probable beaten, and
told that GOD does not love you!

No no one would choose this path unless it were true. They were created
that way. If you say that GOD would not do such a thing then look at a
child with a major physical deformation. GOD does create things that
are unsightly to us. To see how we react to it. Many of us are
unsightly in GOD eyes. How can we expect forgiveness from GOD if we can
not love or accept what is unsightly to us.
For Christ said:

Matthew 6:12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Matthew 6:15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will
not forgive your sins.

Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your
heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against
anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your
sins. "

Luke 6:37-38 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn,
and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give,
and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken
together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the
measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Luke 11:3-4 Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for
we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into
temptation. '"

That pretty much covers the need to back up what I wrote from
scripture. But as for casting of stumbling blocks,

Matthew 13:41 "The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will
gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit
lawlessness,

Matthew 18:7 Matthew 18 Matthew 18:6-8 ""Woe to the world because of its
stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but
woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!

Luke 17:1 Luke 17 Luke 17:1-2 He said to His disciples, ""It is
inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they
come!

Romans 14:13 Then let us no more pass judgment on one another, but
rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of
a brother.

You see a stumbling block can be something that you may or may not
believe to be a sin. But have been told it is a sin. Once you have
heard this the adversary within constantly reminds you of this. Now you
must choose to conform to the teaching or stand tall against your
accuser. Since the accuser comes at you from within and in your own
voice or thought, it creates dualism. The begging of your fall. A
fall not from judgment from GOD, but from self condemnation. You see
Bad luck is inevitable. When you do something that is expressed as a
sin but you know is not, and bad luck happens your accuser will say
"see what happens" or "you knew better and this is what happens" or "you
brought this bad luck upon yourself". Why? maybe you got a little
drunk, or smoked some pot, or didn't go to work or acted
"irresponsible". These are not sins. But they can leave a terrible
feeling of guilt. Just more ammunition to use against you from Satan,
who works at you from within. Imagine the guilt for being gay. What
can you do? If you are gay you will suffer! Either from living life as
a lie, and in a way that is different than you were created. Or suffer
from the guilt of dogma, and being a outcast from your family, the
church, and society.

If you see a gay person, don't be upset with him or yell cruelties and
damnation, but have a welcoming smile or apathy. Be sad for them
because you know how much they hurt, either on the surface or deep down.

God Bless you all.

Tracy,

I strongly disagree with you that the Lord would create men as homosexuals. The Lord destroyed
the city of Sodom and Gomorrah because of the sins that these men were committing, and as the
Lord said in Mark Chapter 10:6-9

"...But from the beginning of creation, `God made them male and female.'
`For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh.
What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder."

Please read the following also:

Chapter 19
Genesis, chapter 19
1: The two angels came to Sodom in the evening; and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot
saw them, he rose to meet them, and bowed himself with his face to the earth,
2: and said, "My lords, turn aside, I pray you, to your servant's house and spend the night, and
wash your feet; then you may rise up early and go on your way." They said, "No; we will spend the
night in the street."
3: But he urged them strongly; so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he made them
a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4: But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the
people to the last man, surrounded the house;
5: and they called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that
we may know them."
6: Lot went out of the door to the men, shut the door after him,
7: and said, "I beg you, my brothers, do not act so wickedly.
8: Behold, I have two daughters who have not known man; let me bring them out to you, and do to
them as you please; only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my
roof."
9: But they said, "Stand back!" And they said, "This fellow came to sojourn, and he would play the
judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them." Then they pressed hard against the man
Lot, and drew near to break the door.
10: But the men put forth their hands and brought Lot into the house to them, and shut the door.
11: And they struck with blindness the men who were at the door of the house, both small and
great, so that they wearied themselves groping for the door.
12: Then the men said to Lot, "Have you any one else here? Sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or any
one you have in the city, bring them out of the place;
13: for we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great
before the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it."
14: So Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, "Up, get out of
this place; for the LORD is about to destroy the city." But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be
jesting.
15: When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Arise, take your wife and your two
daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city."
16: But he lingered; so the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, the
LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him forth and set him outside the city.
17: And when they had brought them forth, they said, "Flee for your life; do not look back or stop
anywhere in the valley; flee to the hills, lest you be consumed."
18: And Lot said to them, "Oh, no, my lords;
19: behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness in
saving my life; but I cannot flee to the hills, lest the disaster overtake me, and I die.
20: Behold, yonder city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Let me escape there --
is it not a little one? -- and my life will be saved!"
21: He said to him, "Behold, I grant you this favor also, that I will not overthrow the city of
which you have spoken.
22: Make haste, escape there; for I can do nothing till you arrive there." Therefore the name of
the city was called Zo'ar.
23: The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zo'ar.
24: Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomor'rah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25: and he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and
what grew on the ground.
26: But Lot's wife behind him looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27: And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the LORD;
28: and he looked down toward Sodom and Gomor'rah and toward all the land of the valley, and
beheld, and lo, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.
29: So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham, and sent
Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.
30: Now Lot went up out of Zo'ar, and dwelt in the hills with his two daughters, for he was afraid
to dwell in Zo'ar; so he dwelt in a cave with his two daughters.
31: And the first-born said to the younger, "Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to
come in to us after the manner of all the earth.
32: Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve
offspring through our father."
33: So they made their father drink wine that night; and the first-born went in, and lay with her
father; he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
34: And on the next day, the first-born said to the younger, "Behold, I lay last night with my
father; let us make him drink wine tonight also; then you go in and lie with him, that we may
preserve offspring through our father."
35: So they made their father drink wine that night also; and the younger arose, and lay with him;
and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
36: Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.
37: The first-born bore a son, and called his name Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this
day.
38: The younger also bore a son, and called his name Ben-ammi; he is the father of the Ammonites
to this day.

The Almighty Creator does not agree with this sin. He loves the sinner but not the sin that these
men are committing. Only the Holy Spirit could convince you of your confusion in regards to your
opinion in this matter. I as a human could not make you believe in anything that you don't want
to believe. Only The Lord could show you the way to the light. By reading your e-mail I felt
sorrow in my heart because of the things you went through when you were younger. I pray that The
Lord gives you wisdom and knowledge. May the Lord bring His Holy Spirit into your heart to heal
your wounds.

God Bless you

Erika

Vatican doctrine chief blasts rock, pop music
Tuesday February 13, 11:36 AM

http://www.theage.com.au/breaking/0102/13/A21720-2001Feb13.shtml

VATICAN CITY, Feb 12: Rock and pop music and even opera are unholy
distractions from the Christian faith, according to comments
published today by the Vatican's cardinal responsible for Catholic
doctrine.

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger said in an essay on liturgy the music used
in Christian ceremonies that he considered rock to be "an expression
of base passions which, in large musical gatherings, assumes cult
characteristics or even becomes a countercult opposed to
Christianity."

He said rock music seeks to falsely "liberate man through a
phenomenon of mass, underpinned by rhythm, noise and lighting
effects."

Equally under fire was pop music, which he described as "an
industriallyproduced ... cult of banality."

Even opera failed to make his holy grade. He said it had "eaten away
at the sacred" in the last century.

Although I am not Catholic, nor do I agree with their doctrines,
I do tip my hat to Cardinal Ratzinger for his courageous statement about Rock music in the Church, whatever the Church denomination is. - Sunday

I believe that rock music it is just a form of rebelion towards the Almighty. Not only does it
have diabolic subliminal messages hidden in the lyrics, but it also distorts the human mind. I
don't know about if any of you have experienced this, but when I have been in places where rock
music is being played I get an instant headache and confusion in my thoughts.

Hebron-Past, Present and Forever
By David Wilder
The Jewish Community of Hebron

                            The "B" Factor
                                   February 12, 2001

A few weeks ago, while going through the Jerusalem Post, I came upon a
full-page advertisement, which stunned me. Titled "ANOTHER DAY,
ANOTHER ORPHAN" the ad pictured six year old Na'ama Didovsky, daughter
of murdered Beit Hagai teacher Rina Didovsky, killed by terrorists
over three months ago. The picture shows Na'ama with tears rolling
down her cheeks at her mother's funeral.

From September 27 until today, February 12 four and a half months, fifty five
Israelis have been murdered by Arafat's terrorist armed forces. This morning
we again witnessed the unthinkable a 7 year old boy, his four year old
brother, and their newly widowed mother standing near the lifeless body of
their 35 year old father Tzachi Sasson, a resident of the Rosh Tzurim kibbutz
in Gush Etzion.

Fifty five dead and almost 100 orphaned children.

Tzachi Sasson was driving home from work last night, just as Dr.
Shmuel Gillis was, less than 2 weeks ago. The only real difference was
about 20 minutes the time it takes to drive from where Tzachi was
murdered to the site where Dr. Gillis was shot down. Known as the
"tunnel road" because of the two tunnels running through the Judean
Hills just outside of Jerusalem, this road connects Israel's eternal
capital to the heart of the country known as Yehuda, or Judea.
Closest to Jerusalem is the Neve Daniel community, followed by Elazar
and Efrat. Two minutes by car from Efrat, on the other side of the
road, is the Gush Etzion Junction. Traveling west, up the road, are a
number of communities, including Kfar Etzion, Alon Shvut and, at the
top of the hill, Rosh Tzurim, home of the Sasson family.

The two tunnels are joined by a bridge, which is overlooked by an Arab
refugee camp and the city, now infamous, Beit Jala. This road is the
life line between Jerualem, Gush Etzion and a little further down the
road, Kiryat Arba and Hebron. Arabs have been shooting at this road
for the past four months. Shooting after shooting with the number of
miracles growing steadily. Until last night. Until Tzachi Sasson
happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, being struck down
by a bullet in his head.

When the ambulance crew arrived, less than a minute after the
shooting, they too were attacked. The emergency crew wore bullet-proof
vests and helmets, running to Tzachi's car crouching low, so as not to
be targeted by the attackers. When they extracted Tzachi from his car
and laid him on a stretcher, they needed the police and other security
forces to form a 'human wall' around them, in order to prevent any
other bullets from hitting the wounded man, who was still alive.

It sounds like a scene out of a war movie. The only real difference is
that this is not a movie it is real. It is a real war.

What was Israel's response? This afternoon Israel allowed reopening of
Arafat's airfield in Gazza, in order to allow Moslems to leave for the
Hajj in Mecca. With the airport open, Arafat will be able to continue
smuggling in weapons and explosives to be used to kill Jews, Jews like
Tzachi Sasson, Dr. Shmuel Gillis, and Rina Didovsky. Or perhaps Jews
living in Jerusalem, Netanya, Hadera, or even Tel Aviv.

========================

Since the election of Ariel Sharon I have refrained from writing, or
expressing any kind of real reaction. The reason is, perhaps, for fear
of saying anything, because it is difficult to know what to say.
Thomas Friedman concluded his February 8th column in the New York
Times writing, "All we know is that for now, the Oslo test is over.
That is what a vast majority of Israelis said in this election. So
stop asking whether Mr. Sharon will become de Gaulle. That is not why
Israelis elected him. They elected him to be Patton. They elected Mr.
Sharon because they know exactly who he is, and because seven years of
Oslo have taught them exactly who Yasir Arafat is."

Thomas Friedman, far from being a friend of the Israeli right, hit the
nail on the head. Almost.

The real question seems now to be: Does Ariel Sharon honestly know why
the Israeli electorate made him Prime Minister?

As of this writing, intense negotiations are continuing between the
Likud and Labor in order to form a 'national unity government."
Ariel Sharon has offered the two key cabinet positions to his
electoral opponents: Shimon Peres (Foreign Minister) and Ehud Barak
(Defense Minister).

Barak, during four months of battles, has turned his back to Israel's
citizens, both military and civilian. He abandoned them to their fate,
and as a result, fifty five people have died.

There are those who say that Barak was forced into his position of
'no response' by the far left who control the Labor party Haim
Ramon, Avraham Burg, Shomo ben Ami, and Shimon Peres. There are those
who say that Barak too, was handcuffed by his own party. And they
continue by saying that under Ariel Sharon, Barak will know what to
do, and will do it.

Maybe yes, maybe no. But is this why we elected Ariel Sharon, in order
to again place our lives in the hands of a man who as Prime Minister,
did not have the ability to control his own cabinet members?

And of course, little need be said about Shimon Peres in the position
of Foreign Minister. It's like letting Dracula out of his coffin at
night. Only as far as Peres is concerned, night continues for 24 hours
a day.

Ariel Sharon MUST FIRST STOP THE TERRORISM, STOP THE SHOOTING, STOP
THE CONTINUED MURDER OF ISRAELIS. Journalists, speaking to me, then
ask, "HOW?" My answer is very simple. Arik Sharon knows exactly what
to do and how to do it. He's done if before and he can surely do it
again. But only if he has who to work with. Sitting together with
Barak and Dracula isn't a sure solution to stopping the killing.

According to media accounts, Labor negotiators have two preconditions
to joining Sharon's government. The government's platform must include
1) recognition of a Palestinian State and 2) agreement to uproot
communities in Judea, Samaria and Gazza, for security reasons, or as
part of a political settlement.

So far, the Likud has only rejected the second demand, but not the
first.

Ariel Sharon, and the entire Likud party, are not taking the most
vital of elements into consideration. That is, the "B" factor. By
agreeing to a Palestinian State, they are decreeing upon the State of
Israel continued aggression, as we have witnessed for four and a half
months. The continued shooting and killing of Israelis, on the roads,
in their homes, - this is the "B" factor the "Blood" factor. Agreeing
to a Palestinian state is tantamount to accepting and tolerating
continued spilling of Jewish blood, for years to come.

It is not enough to reject Labor's insistence to uproot communities,
because agreeing to a Palestinian state is virtually the same thing.
This is not why we voted Ehud Barak out and Ariel Sharon in.

Shalom Y'all - I'm trying to keep the list postings down but things
are happening so fast in Israel these days that each day brings new
news, and more burdens for prayer.

So bear with me. Here's another report from Jerry Golden in the thick
of things. Blessings Stafford

Jerry Golden "REPORT"

 2-13-01
Last night and today was nothing short of war in many fronts
around Israel, Judea and Samaria, scores of Palestinians were wounded
and two killed that I know of. This morning a leader of Arafat=92s Force
17, who had known ties with the Iranian Hizbollah was killed in his
car in Gaza by four rockets fired from an Israeli helicopter. He was
responsible for the two rocket attacks in the Jewish Settlement over
the past week. It=92s 8:PM here in Israel and the fighting is heavy on
over a dozen fronts. Things are escalating and the Palestinians are
promising more of the same.

The Fatah headquarters in Bethlehem made a statement today that it
would intensify its activities against Israeli targets, including the
Jerusalem neighborhood Gillo. I think that once Sharon takes over the
reins we will see a harsher reaction to the killings and terrorism
than we are seeing now. Sharon simply will not talk to Arafat as long
as there is any violence against Israeli=92s.

Fatah, is warning that any Israel even a Journalist that enters
Bethlehem will not get out alive. That they will murder any Israeli
journalist that comes there. The reason is they have reported on the
Fatah organization unfavorably. "No wonder CNN is so bias against
Israel"

It was reported today that Saddam Hussein has formed a "Jerusalem
Liberation Army" made up of volunteers and soldiers "to liberate
Palestine" from Israeli rule. That they would liberate Palestine from
the Mediterranean to the Jordan River said Ali Hassan Al-Majid, a
member of the decision-making Revolutionary Command Council. Iraq, has
already announced the mobilization of more the 6.5 million volunteer
Army for a Jihad, (Holy War) against the Jewish State and urged
Israel=92s neighbors to open their borders.

The Fatah Organization headed by Arafat, put out leaflets today vowing
to escalate the intifata and to make the lives of Gilo residents "hell".
The same leaflet went on to praise the killing of the Israeli motorist
Tazhi Sasson on Sunday night.

There is violence everywhere and I could go on and on reporting more
and more. But let me end with this good news. This is the day that the
Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. God is still in
control and it His Will that will be done. All He is requiring us to
do is to be obedient to His calling on our lives, eternity is a very
long time. A friend of mine in Missouri always says he heard heaven is
not half bad. Keep us in your prayers, remember our son Joel in the
IDF who has been called to fight for the Land of Israel. Remember this
ministry, we love you.

Check our new Web site http://jerrygolden.bizland.com There are a lot
of people on this email list I need to hear from. Shalom, jerry
